View Full Version : Upping Regiment Size?

Does anyone know if its possible to increase the regiment size? I love the game (I'm donating $17 cuz I feel it was worth $20!), but I just wish the battles could be larger scale. All that creativity that Neocore put into the unit types seems so wasted with just 40 man regiments :/

Thats amazing cus i was thinking the exact same thing.

The gameplay holds up, improvements could be made here and there, but my biggest gripe is just as you say; squad or regiment size.

It doesnt feel like there are near enough soldiers on the battlefield, even when you have a full company of men in an army.

I wanna know if there are any mods or ini tweaks to maximise it if possible.

It's even more noticeable when you're placed on a giant map which makes the armies seem even smaller.

Total War is out-doing King Arthur on this front.

I would suspect its in an .ini, as the formations are dynamically generated, they should be able to take any size of unit, and we'd just have to dig into the right part of the games pack files... but I don't speak hungarian (I suspect the stuff is in HN).

I would suspect it's a hard coded value but, by all means, prove me wrong :D

I wish I could. Sadly I have no idea where to even start looking. I do know that in the TW games, the value is easily changed in an .ini, but... well, this isn't Total War. 'nuff said.

There are a lot of editable files extracted when you use quickBMS but there is also a lot of hungarian-english google translate work to be done. I wasn't trying to be overly negative and would actually love to see someone succeed.

Let's hope for a more mod friendly KingArthur 2 :)

On second thought, it may not be a good idea.

Kinda backed myself into a corner. two of my armies are battered and bruised. My third army is full force.

I thought i had the upper hand.

4 welsh knights became bunched up on the Campaign map each with only 1 regiment.

Took them all down with the 3rd army in quick succesion.

Then i beat away a full-force army (8 welsh archers plus...)

Then what? Turn end. Another ♥♥♥♥ing full force welsh army comes out and decimates me. WTF!? The game is so damn hard. Armies pop out of the ether!

By the gods, i'm so screwed.

This QuickBMS program is driving me nuts. It clearly says it supports the King Arthur program with a script but then craps itself when attempting to pull out the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\king arthur - the role-playing wargame\Configuration\Files.pak

It's possible that neocore changed the way they pack their archives.

maybe contact the guy who wrote the script and maybe ask him if it needs updating?
