DLC on Atari

anyone knows if the DLC available on atari will work on the steam game if i buy it there, or should i wait for the DLC only released on steam?

i was thinking on buying 2000 atari tokens to get the casino and a few more cars, but i'm not sure if it's compatible with the steam game.

TDU2 Casino Online

Atari will release TDU2 Casino Online on the same day as Test Drive Unlimited 2, which can be downloaded on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace. TDU2 Casino Online includes casino games like poker, roulette, and slots. The player will have a chance to unlock exclusive cars (Audi R8 Spyder and Spyker C8 Aileron) while playing these casino games.

TDU2 Casino Online will also include a track for player to try out the exclusive cars that were won. All prizes and cars won in the casino can be carried over into Test Drive Unlimited 2.[9]

That is, as far as I know, the only place you can buy the DLC.
Their twitter said thats how you get the casino, it won't be on steam to buy.

Much the same way that to get the bonus car from pre-ordering on steam, you have to register the key on their website.
Steams little more than a download portal for the client, everything else is handled by them on their own site.

i just bought a few atari tokens but after that i found out that the cd key steam gave me is not accepted on the atari site :(
looks like it's not possible to link the atari tokens to the steam game :\

Wow i was literally just about to put in my paypal info. So basically we can't get the casino DLC because we are playing the steam version?

yeah you're right, can't register with the steam cd key. that sucks but I was still able to install the DLC that came with the steam version, without entering the cd key. can anyone verify for sure that you can't buy and install the casino DLC with the steam version?

Well that's stupid. There's got to be a way to get the DLC even if you bought the game on Steam.

Just looked on the Test Drive Unlimited 2 forums and found that it's probably not working since the Casino DLC won't be live for ~20 hours so the codes on all platforms are being denied.

This makes no sense.. Why would they deny moar money..? You sure you tryed everything? Try going into http://www.testdriveunlimited2.com/user click "transaction history" and see if anything's there...

i'm not sure because i'm still downloading the game. but at the beginning i was asked to open an account on testdriveunlimited2.com i did that, after that i bought 2000 tokens, and then i noticed that i had no product linked.
so, at my account on products i found this: "You have no products. Click here to enter a key." ...i clicked and copied the CD key that steam gave me, it was refused, and i kept my account with no product linked. so, i think that now, i have 2000 tokens linked to no game, and looks like there's no way to associate the atari and steam accounts. maybe it's temporary, but for now, i can't.

It won't let you register with the steam key that's for sure.
After buying the casino DLC on the TDU2 website it shows:

Activated Features

* Pagani Zonda Tricolore
* Test Drive Unlimited 2 Casino

However in game, I can't find anywhere that shows my DLC might have to wait until (if) the casino becomes available to find out since I'm still at the beginning of the game. The DLC option in steam only shows pagani.

i have absolutely nothing on transaction history. i can see that i have Current Balance: 2000 Atari Tokens, but that's it. i have 2000 Atari Tokens i can spent it, but as atari and steam are not possible to link, that are useful. i think that it works only with retail version. i just don't understand why steam made me open that damn account just to loose money :\

well... the good thing is that i payed by paypal and i can claim it as a fraud :)

Actually the register page said, if we have a 25 digit vendor key we should enter that, and only enter the 16 digit key if we didn't have a 25 digit one. So I put in the 25 digit key and now the preorder bonus shows up, but not the game itself. I have no idea what that means though. Also the overview says "Cryptic Products". Is Cryptic involved or did they copypasta from their games that Atari publishes? :confused:

Instructions may be different depending on language too, wouldn't be the first time some tiny but important detail was lost in translation.

DannyTheFool, that's not the issue, the problem is that you can't register the games cd key. There is no problem when using the DLC

For the game, You do not enter the game cd key on the website, you need to wait until your game finishes downloading.
And then when you launch that you will be asked for your cd key

Meanwhile, the pre-order bonus key is used on the website under redeem key.
Your purchase of tokens on their website will be fine, that is the ONLY way to buy the DLC for the game, no matter where you purchased the game originally.

(And yeah, the casino is not yet actually active. Give it a day or so and it should work fine.)
