Quite simply, the game fails on every level.

Handeling, as has been mentioned, is just god awful.

A half baked, frustarting license progress system that prevents you from having a good time at your leisure

Forced path progression goes against everything that made TDU1 an outstanding experience.

They spent way to much of their time on everything but the racing.

I know, I know we were warned. Fair enough but be warned, if you have not bought the game yet DON'T!

Install TDU1 instead, it's actually a fun game.

I'd have to agree with you my friend.

it seemed they forgot this is a racing game first, and social game second.

The handling from the bonnet and road cam are fine, but I agree, in anything other than off road driving, the other cameras are difficult, although I really don't see a great deal of difference between this and TDU1. This is all based on using the hardcore setting for assists of course, not sure about the other modes. The biggest flaw in the mechanics for me is the on/off brakes. Using a trigger on the xbox 360 controller is bad enough, I can imagine wheel users having a nightmare with it.

Well its an arcade-social racer, what do you expect?

It fun for whenever I need a break from playing AAA games. And seriously with 30€ its just a little overpriced for a Indie title, but the graphics are atleast on par with AAA, and there is a lot of cars in the game and thats an aspect I enjoy very much. Game may not be good, but meh, for that price I think the Gametime/Price ratio is good.

But honestly, this game tries waaay too hard to be NFS Most Wanted, Forza Motorsport 3 and Dirt 2 in one, and failed at all of those aspects.

i have to agree. I played it for 30 minutes and just dropped my controller and went to watch reruns of reno 911. i was hoping for a fun sandbox racing experience with arcade mechanics similar to maybe project gotham racing. Instead it's way more cumbersome and basic.

I've had bowel movements that were more satisfying and smelld less.

I have to agree, this game is just not fun. It really does try to be Forza, NFS and Dirt2 and fails. The Developers should have picked ONE racing style Sim or Arcade, not try to make a system for everyone because as most people with a brain know when you try to make everyone happy, you end up pissing off everyone instead, it almost never works when games try to appeal to all styles.

I think its pretty fun. If you wanted a sim they are out there.
This game isnt going to totally drag me away from F1 2010 for long I reckon, but Im having fun at the moment. Played it for 5 odd hours after release, and its ok once u get the hang of it.

It was only £25 as well, which is close to budget. quite rightly as it looks liek a game from 2005, with features to match.

I'm downloading now, reading this forum has given me a sad.

Can someone confirm something for me... all I want to do is grab a car (mid-range) and do laps of the islands, just driving wherever my head takes me.

Can I do that? (I use a G25).

Yes you can freely drive anywhere once you get your car.

The only thing that pisses me off is the licenses.

Handeling, as has been mentioned, is just god awful.

Using a controller or wheel, handling is just fine. Cars feel like they have enough torque when they should, and starts are much more interesting as they are reliant on more than just "hammering the throttle" or "waiting at the sweet spot". I've had no issues with controls so far, and the driving in itself is satisfying, especially as you find highways and interesting inclines.

This isn't GT5. The license tests are dead simple and only teach a few basics that a lot of people don't seem to understand so far, especially when dealing with high-powered rear-wheel-drive cars. Racing is more about just accelerating.

Forced path progression goes against everything that made TDU1 an outstanding experience.

Perhaps I haven't seen what you have regarding this, but I don't see a forced progression.

They spent way to much of their time on everything but the racing.

No examples, can't comment outside of the fact that I disagree.

This I can agree with, but I've just turned them off and moved into using something else in the background. This is pretty common, even for Xbox titles.

Completely disagree with you. This game is far superior to TDU1.

The handling is far better. Maybe you just don't know what good handling is? At least better than TDU1 , considering it's an arcade racer.

Seems when people are using a keyboard to play, they think they know everything.
