My Magicka update suspended with .8mb to go, and when I tried to reinstall the entire game, the download stalled at 2mb to go.

I have tried using different hub/clouds in the steam settings to no avail. Unless steam servers have been slammed for the past 5 days continuously, it's probably not server load.

It will occasionally start downloading at around 2byte/second for a second or two then stop.

I've also tried verifying the game cache. It identifies corrupt files and says it will redownload, but doesn't. This may be because the initial download isn't finished. I don't know.

This problem is not occurring for any other steam game I own, several of which have updated or been downloaded during this time period.

Solutions? If I cannot solve this, I will need to apply for a refund because I cannot even access my game.

Are You playing a game while it tries to download? I've found Steam likes to pause updates and downloads while gaming, and then it never wants to resume till I restart my Steam Client.

if a simple steam restart doesn't help try the following:

1. shut down steam (menu bar, steam, exit)

2. go to your steam folder and delete the "AppUpdateStats.blob"

3. start steam and try to download magicka again

if this fails...

1. shut down steam (menu bar, steam, exit)

2. go to your steam folder and delete the "ClientRegistry.blob"

3. start steam and try to download magicka again

hope this helps

Tried all these options, and none worked.

Tried all these options, and none worked.

then try:

1. shut down steam (menu bar, steam, exit)

2. go to your steam/steamapps folder and delete the "magicka.ncf" (check if there are other magicka related files, and delete the 2 .blob files again, just in case)

3. go to your steam/steamapps/common folder and delete the whole magicka folder

3. start steam and try to download magicka again
