First off, what is the difference between the two? Second, I listen to Odysee - Scarf and Eurodancer - DJ Mangoo so I was wondering what types of songs would I like?

Please share your songs! :)

Nowadays, techno is actually a really unpopular genre. The use of the word is really overraped because of it's more popular and classic origins. Odds are you're not listening to techno; techno died from being in the main EDM scene a while ago. This is 2011 techno:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZwMZG9hZEWc

Odds are you're either listening to house, electro house, or trance. This is trance. It has that very keyboardey classic feel, since for the most part it still uses a lot of classic synths (instruments):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4Z3cZrQQht8

And this is electro house, which with house are the two most popular for all of electronic dance music:

I'm also a producer myself. Electronic dance music is my #1 passion in life:

Yea. General eurodance trance. Though those are really either quite old, or generic/badly produced. They're not going to be viewed highly to another professional's ears, since it's not the the in the real current trance community. Here's currently #9 on Beatport's trance chart, which is really good:

I think these are trance songs:

Eurodancer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=03dJHrLdVl0

Odysee: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXswc1jACScI listen to predominantly electronic music, and have done for the better part of 10 years, but I still have trouble figuring out what the different genres are and where the boundaries lie.

Anyway, those two songs are definitely Trance. I love trance music - it's lush, it's pretty, it's pumping. If you want to get more, the best way to go about it is to check out some good compilation albums. Some good series are: Gatecrasher, godskitchen and Trance World.

for advanced techno lovers ;)I don't like Techno much, though maybe I haven't heard enough. I tried to get into Ellen Allien a while ago but I can't listen to her for long. But these tracks you've linked to are great. I've added it to my "save for later" list at emusic.com. Thanks :)

I'm always on the look out for really raw, dirty, loud, aggressive electronic music but I can never find an artist that really captures this all the time.

Preferably without lyrics. Like industrial music turned up to 10.

Do you have an electronic artist that you like who fits this definition?

I think you could class Darude - Sandstorm (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WrB3xDjDs5A) as techno. So you go can go by that.

For trance you might use this Jurgen Vries - The theme (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vrQ3blJcQ5A) to check the differences. York The Awakening (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=56WOnFWEgBQ) this one might be a trance as well.

Not sure if Techno strictly sticks with no voices or if Trans like to throw in voices now and then. But I think Trance makers like to throw in voices as trance is often used in clubs. So voices are welcome.

I'm guessing that I'm more a Trance fan than Techno fan too.

Is that so? Well then I really don't know what to class as Techno.

Though lately I've been listening to this song.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=C198cJoi1dc Dj Klubbingman - Revolution we call it
It's the same version I listen to where as all the other songs on Youtube are remixes and doesn't sound the same. Most which sounds worse than that version.

I've listened to it for 3-4 months by now along with 5 other songs. This is when I walk outside or head to the job. I just don't get tired of it. My big brother would go nuts though and I've listened to songs a bit to much while he's close so he starts to hate them. :D

What about Jungle?

As for Electronica, bands I listen too are early to late 1990s-2000s. The Propellerheads, The Crystal Method, Prodigy, FatBoy Slim, The Chemical Brothers, Juno Reactor, The Dust Brothers, DJ Q-Bert, Eiffel 65, Lo Fidelity All Stars, Mirwais, Cirrus, Basement Jaxx, Apollo 440, Cassius, Clinton, DJ Encore & Engelina, Moby, Supreme Beings of Leisure, Zero 7, and Traci Lords.
