Last night, if people had been watching the news (and I'm pretty certain that most countires TV networks around the World had their eyes focused on Egypt last night) then they would have seen that President Mubarak did infact not step down. He refuses to leave until the proper elections in September (Which he will not be running in according to his speach last night)
Friday 11 February - 2011
Today is suppose to be the biggest day for the protests. TV networks expect this will be the day if something happens, then today it will happen. Major dissapointment last night in Tahrir square when Mubarak gave his press release so there is to be an expected back lash at Mubarak. Talk of walking 3 hours to the Presidential palace, or other key locations to stage protests there as well as the hundreds of thousands if not millions who were in Tahrir square yesterday.

Major things happening in Egypt right now. You wonder how long the country and stand having what seems like a nation wide strike, protests and more. The economy is surly going to suffer for it and Mubaraks refusal to leave is just getting too far if you ask me. America expected Mubarak to release his command last night with the press release Obama gave. Also the CIA cheif expected it as well but Mubarak pretty much too everyone by surprise. Army is caught up what seems to be in the middle. Trying to keep peace and getting the protests to end and everyone back on the move again. High up Generals walked the streets yesterday giving their support for the protestors saying they will meet their demands and if need be, take off their uniforms and join the protests. I did not get to see the press release by Army Officials last night so I'm not sure what they said.
Place seems to be in a mess? People want democracy but the current regime refuses to let go. One can only see that eventually it may get extremely violent. Mubarak's speach only fulled the raging fire anyway.
What are your thoughts on the crisis in Egypt? You must have seen something in the news as all eyes of the World are upon Egypt now. Any thoughts you wish to share?
