So, my load times are pretty long. Have been for a while, but I don't recall them being so long when I first started playing back on launch day. I've looked around, and I can't really find any ideas for cutting down the load times outside of basic things like running a defrag and checking the cache.
Once everything loads, it runs perfectly, but the load times are enormous... like 3+ minutes, while most people load in about 30-90 seconds. It's not uncommon for me to finish loading after the round has already begun, especially as infected (since survivors are invariably impatient.)

Same problem here. The loading time has significally become longer than before.
For some reason my framerate has dropped too, although L4d2 worked fine before. Now it is unplayable. I have the latest drivers.

Wow 3+ minutes? Must kill in versus!
Anyway have you tried turning down the settings for fun to see if it increases? Also have you turned off multicore rendering? Also I heard if you turned down paged pool memory it loads faster at the cost of making sprays/loading posters look horrible.
Also have you tried verifying the game? and defragging game files, this is done in steam.

The loading in l4d2 does take so friggen long doesn't it?
L4d1 loads up fast in like 15 seconds. L4d2 takes like 1 minute or more.

I noticed only like 2 second increase in load times, but it isn't much a problem for me. Load times are only long if you have a really slow processor.
My I5 760 only takes 4-6 seconds to load and it runs over 100 frames on high.
Load times probably contributed by putting extra content into dlc that incorporates with the main maps.

Yeah, it's brutal for VS. Like I said, it's not uncommon for me to finish loading after the round has already started, especially in a pub.
I'll try turning off multicore and see if it makes a difference.
