Was anyone else kinda disappointed at the ending?

You get to the factory and I was creeping around, soooo nervous at what was going to happen. You see those big guards and it starts building up tension. You get to the HUMUNGOUS structure and I was thinking it would be soooooo epic that some monstrous thing came walking through the middle part and you have to keep shooting the ball at it or something before it got all the way to the end!!! And then when I got to the last room, I was super freaked out because I was thinking "here it comes" you put the ball in the machine to unlock the ultimate boss!!! but no... you just solve some easy puzzle, see the pharaoh (who I didn't realize he was the pharaoh the other times you see him), he kinda just lets you go (I still don't really get the story, could someone explain to me the story from the secrets, I sort of have some grasp of it but not all). And then it ends!

And the only upside is that the machine flies away, which leaves definite room for a sequel!!! WHICH THERE BETTER BE!!! Because I loved the rest of the game! I liked that you could die, but it was more about exploring and solving puzzles, and of course plowing down zombies!

I wasn't.

I don't think you paid very close attention to the story and clues from the NPC's or you wouldn't have been expecting that. You need to know what these people did to know what needed to be done by you.

Still I'm sad for you you didn't get your monster monster you wanted.;) Glad you liked it overall though. Fun little puzzle game imo.

DLC opening up some of the locked doors would be fun as would a complete sequel. would depend on how well the game did.

We are glad you liked the game! It would be good if you did a spoiler tag on your post :)

I don't think that there's going to be a sequel of The Ball since it was already a kind of a remake from what I understand. The ending to the game implies that there won't be any more games.

I read the little secret messages, and it's a shame that you can't get a nice little "journal" so you can read them all in order. If you do, then the game actually has a nice story.

If I understand the game correctly, aliens came to Earth and gave the ancient natives The Ball. The Ball is essentially the Monolith in the movie 2001, where it has the ability to make people smarter, and the natives developed extremely advanced technology. Over time, the people wanted the power for themselves and so they stole the Ball from the aliens and kept the aliens imprisoned. Meanwhile, the Ball continued to cause civil unrest as people fought for control over it. It's also implied that touching The Ball for too long eventually makes you contract a disease that turns you into a mummy.

In the end, the people realized their mistake but it was too late. They locked The Ball away where they couldn't get it (but you can), and then collapsed the entrances so their mistake would die with them. They wanted to give The Ball back to the aliens, but they were unable to do it. However, you did it for them. I think that's why the king walks away at the end, as he realized that you weren't trying to use the power for yourself but helping them get rid of something that destroyed their entire civilization.
