Having never played Dungeon Keeper, I'm not basing my opinion on a direct comparison. I'm judging the game on its own merits.
It's not a terrible game. It's ok. Not great, but ok.
Yes, $40 was probably too much for it. This is much closer to a $30 game.

I'll help ya get some insight...Get Dungeon Keeper ^^ It's not a dated game...it's amazing no matter how old it is.
But honestly, I'd have to say it should be a little cheaper than $30. And that's not by comparison to it's role model, it's directly related to how "beta" feeling the game is. Poor sound, glitches all over the place, crashes, errors opening and saving. It can be mind numbingly painful to try and have fun.
I think they should have stuck with the Minecraft idea...sell the current version for $15-$20 with free patches up to full release and then sell the finished version for $35-$40. Just my opinion though.

Now imagine you don't live in the US, than you pay 45 euro for the game.
Not only do you pay 5 euro more than you would dollar. The exchange rate ♥♥♥♥s it up beyond believe to 61 dollars.
If you live in Europe or Australia, your pissed beyond all measure because you got ripped for 30$ not just 10$.

Yes, DUNGEON KEEPER is pretty much abandoned software now. It is worth checking out if you want to see why people are griping about DUNGEONS not being a new Dungeon Keeper.

How is it possible to charge different countries more for the same product, which essentially doesn't have a shipping cost when bought online? Even if it's hard copies, I honestly don't understand why Euros are paying twice the price for the same game. Has it been explained?

Corporate greed. No other reason. I would do the same if I had the chance. They try to justify it with VAT taxes and other crap but Britain has ridiculously low gaming prices and even online you can get most boxed games for 30-40 euro.
Steam I think has a 30-70 profit rate with developers so if developers up the price Steam gets more and people will buy anyway.
