Weapon Switch Bug

I've just started playing Road to Hill 30 for the first time, and I have a bug where I can't switch to a new weapon when I pick it up. Actually, I can switch, but the weapon doesn't appear in my hands. I can fire the weapon, but once the clip is out, I can't reload. I can't even get past the second chapter because my pistol runs out of ammo and I'm stuck without a weapon. I've checked the forums and google for an answer, and haven't found even a hint of one.

I'm running Windows 7 x64 Pro...tried changing everything to default in the game, closed all extraneous programs, etc...nadda :o. Any ideas?

First thing to do is verify the game files. Click on the Steam icon and choose Libraries from the list. Right click on the game and choose Properties> Local Files tab> Verify.

Been a while since I played this, but, there may be a setting that won't allow you to switch to a weapon without ammo. As far as reloading, does the HUD show that you still have ammo for the weapon you want to reload? You have to find ammo crates and stashes, and when you start out, you don't get a lot of ammo to begin with.

Looks like there was 4 corrupt files. Once they were "reacquired", everything seems to be smooth. Thanks for the help.
