Xbox 360 HUD for PC?

Now, before you guys start flaming me for the use of the controller, understand that I like to play on my couch with an HDTV, and using a mouse and keyboard setup doesn't work well with that. Besides, I play good at both mouse and keyboard and controller.

Now that's out of the way, I've noticed that when I type the command "exec 360controller" it makes the game work almost like the 360 version except for one problem (well, actually two, but I'll get to that later). The HUD on the screen stays like the PC, where the weapons display is like a list. I need it to get like the 360 version where the "Y" button is shown between the two weapons and appropriate items are shown on an onscreen d-pad. The list things is just too confusing.

The second problem isn't as annoying, but the main menu doesn't seem to work with the controller. I can't scroll through.

I know there's a command that'll do this for Half-Life 2, but I can't remember. It might be hud_fastswtich 2
There's also a cvar called gameui_xbox; maybe try setting it to 1 and see if you can use the controller for the main menu.

Maybe OP finds it more comfortable to be using a controller in this scenario? :p

This should be as simple as copying and pasting some positions/size variables located in specific .res files. They are usually labeled as "[$X360]".

Get this HUD for the PC, It's way better that anything else.

I've tried the cvars hud_fastswitch 2 and gameui_xbox already. Apparently, the command doesn't seem to exist in Left 4 Dead 2. Does anyone know how to edit the ui so I can probably make it myself?

Does anyone have a solution for the UI switch? I am playing with a gamepad too and would like to have the item list arranged around a D-Pad.

I have contacted the support about this. Sadly, it is not possible to change the UI to that of the XBox 360 version.

doesn't console command exec xbox360controller or a command like that change it like in tf2?
