A real pain since everyone i play with uses steam. I dont see why it can't atleast give a choice. im never gonna touch my windows live account outside of this game. Why can't i just connect it to steam like every other game?

Not quite sure what you mean; every game the publishers were unwise enough to lumber with GFWL gives you no choice but to use it, whether sold via Steam or not. Actually, it's far less obtrusive with Bulletstorm than most games, and you can pretty much just ignore it.

Do like me and don't even have it activated! The downside is that I can't save though...
Admittedly not my choise as it is a sideeffect of the PhysX fix.
You can just make an offline account if you don't play GFWl online. A tad less hassle, but I still wish savegames and such wasn't tied to it.

Isn't the GFWL feature only required for coop? It's the same deal with DOW2, you can play offline for single player campaign. If you want to play online you'll have to log into GFWL as they're hosting the heartbeat servers.

Question, as it sounds like this is different in the case of Bulletstorm: Can offline profiles save games, or do you HAVE to be signed into GFWL? This might actually require a note in the DRM List (http://steamdrm.flibitijibibo.com/), so I appreciate the tip.

Offline profiles can't play at all. It has to be an online profile, but it can be offline. I activated it on my account, but my wife was able to play and save on her online account in offline mode without activation. An offline profile on the same computer would not play at all.

Oh lord, you can't be serious...
Guess that's going in the list.

Worth mentioning, but not nearly as bad as you would think.

Yeah, it's similar to how Assassin's Creed 2 runs now. Not evil, but certainly amusing.
Thanks again!

I can't use GFWL to log in once, it just tells me it can't connect to the network after a minute, I don't have the option to create an offline account in or out of game either, and there aren't any in game or out of game settings for live that have anything to do with connections. I can log into my live account on my computer no problem, just not inside the game the one time I need to verify it, is there any work arounds for this problem?

♥♥♥♥ sake. I bought the game, I waited 5 days after the americans to play on steam, I wait a day later than retail in my own country, I play it, I go into my game, it does an update to live, DELETES MY LIVE PROFILE FROM MY SYSTEM for god knows WHAt reason, and now all my save games for other live games are gone, even though they are using the same account.
What, the ♥♥♥♥.
Oh btw, I can't even play the game, because it says my live id is now "corrupt" or something.
I did a fresh install of windows 7 just 2 weeks ago, and have been playing other live games fine.
Seriously, ♥♥♥♥ this, ♥♥♥♥ this BIG time.

When I said that Live was OK for me I meant GTA 4's & EFLC's Live.
In Bulletstorm Live sucks. A lot.

I love how people come on Steam forums and complain that it is stupid that they have to use a 3rd party program that is connected to the internet to launch/play their game...

It's not entirely stupid to complain that you have to use two third party programs to play your games, when the one you bought it from already links the game to your account. :)

One is an established standard, one is regarded as a nuisance that's trying to be the standard.
Edit: I was ninja'd with the exact same rebuttal. Nice.

it was really really painless for me. installed the game. files decrypted in minutes. launched game. logged into gfwl (no need to download the client) with my account details username and password, connected anetered serial for multiplayer done. took a few minuts i dont see what the fuss is in installing the game.
The problem arises when you try to match make or play a game with friends. Christ almighty wha tqa a drama. The site you use to add the firends is horrible to use, what a crappy interface, what were ms thinking? Jesus man, they really enevr thought things through did they? Then it takes ages to find the user as it crawls through the search, and finally you add. tghen you get in the game, and it's worse. Installation piece of cake no complaints, in game setting up a match though ♥♥♥♥ that noise. Fun game though

Steam is just the store in this case. GFWL is the multiplayer, leaderboards and DRM. I know some people don't like having two layers of DRM, but removing GFWL removes multiplayer OR splits it like the consoles(no PS3 vs 360) do.
