View Full Version : [Suggestion] Fix L4D1 common infected

Aside from the audio issues, which my colleagues have already brought up, I would like the original common infected models from L4D1 return to the original campaigns. Most of the common infected, save for nurses, patients, TSA agents, and other locale specific zombies were replaced by L4D2's "southern emphasis" zombies. Also, the infected that were left in the DLC campaign wern't properly implemented into the L4D2 gibbing system, causing some dissapointment when I tried to cut a nurse zombie in half.

Yeah i agree, l4d2 zombies don't fit l4d maps and probably will not fit in Cold Stream too, if the campaign take in a cold place.
I hope they bring back the old zombies too or at least their clothes ported over, to make more sense in the maps.
And i hate l4d2 bald zombies too,old zombies are far better than new ones.

I think they may have patched that, because I noticed at No Mercy that the infected patient's head came off when I used a shotgun.

It was always like this. Try hitting it in the chest with a machete.

There should be an option like this:

Choose L4D1 Infected

Choose L4D2 Infected

Mix L4D1/2 Infected

Why not this better:

Gore option high = L4D2 infected

Gore option low(or censored versions like australian) = some L4D2 CI but with more L4D CI in it.

I agree, I would also like to see the original zombies come back for these maps. They would definitely fit better than the "southern" zombies.

I disagree, l4d1 commons must be in original campaigns and l4d2 commons in l4d2 maps, each one in their environment.

I only just noticed this now, and now I can't stop noticing it. I'd like the L4D1 CI implemented in to the appropriate campaigns and with proper Gibbing. I'd like to hack an L4D1 CI messily open.

they should bring back the old common infected and also the special infected looks back too it would make more scenes. Also it would be cool if they gave the Spitter, Jockey, & Charger a new look as if they were from that area that the original L4D survivors where from.

i hate how the l4d2 common infected's eyes glow, it's weird. and yea, they should reskin the new special infected with the proper clothing for the l4d1 campaigns, especially charger. the only place where the current charger would fit that i can think of is the corn field in blood harvest.

It's because the L4D1 models don't gib like the L4D2 models, as far as I'm aware.

True enough. But I cant imagine it would be too unreasonable to port the old models into the new L4D2 gib skeletons.

Actually they do gib, they can lose their arms, heads and legs.

I really support this idea, as that was the only thing I really didn't like about No Mercy in l4d2. Well, I did't like old survivors with the animation of the new ones, but it's not so terrible, as the "southern" zombies on the cold weather.

I said that the models didn't use the Left 4 Dead 2 gibs, not that the didn't gib. Go grab your self a chainsaw, and cut a Left 4 Dead 2 zombie in half. Thats what I want in the original models.
