This game on single core CPUs?

Any chance of this game running on computers with single core CPUs in them? I don't get why this game has (what seem like) such overstated requirements. This game is based on UT3 and its engine, as far as I am aware, and I can easily max that game on my ancient PC. So has anyone tried it on a single core/low end dual core PCs and does it run well?

And is it any good/worth it in your opinion? It looks alright to me, sort of like a cross between Painkiller and Gears of War done Unreal Tournament style, and I like all 3 of those stated games.

I'm planning on running it on this system:

AMD Athlon 64 3200+ 2.2GHz
2GB RAM
GTX 460 768MB
3TB HDD

P.S. I've played a lot of other games that stated my system wouldn't run them, and I max them out fine. For example, I can max out Mafia 2, Mass Effect 2, Necrovision and Lead and Gold easily on my current PC, so what I want to know is whether or not this game is well optimised or a terrible portover from the 360?

A game can be well optomised and run like a dog on a single core computer (because everything is developed for multicores/multithreading these days).

As I said before, most games although state they need dual cores as minimum, have it as an optional requirement. I want to see what people will post back here if anyone has tried running it on a single core, because this game has low-end dual cores as a requirement, which my CPU when OC'ed can either match or beat. If it can run at about 20 frames minimum then I will buy it, because I can max out the visual settings to get better performance (as good as, if not better than current consoles can run this game).

Multithreading doesn't mean much when gaming, it's still 90% dependant on how good your GPU is and mine is more than good enough to max this and most other games to date.
