Even if the game isn't the best FPS of all time..you guys really did put alot in to it and it will definately be better than another console port Call of Duty game..wish other people could see the effort put into this. Thanks.

It looks fantastic, thank you for giving us some love.

I think I'm gonna go for it and pre order the game(NOT from Steam however!), you guys seem to be putting the effort in.

EDIT: I think it's a shame there aren't more people looking at the game and whatnot, it needs more publicity I think. These forums could be a lot more active!

Thanks for the Update Kaos_Chef. I pre-ordered my copy as soon as it was up but you guys keep on bringing on the good stuff. If you could pass on to the folks at Kaos studios tell them they've done good for us pc folks. Even if the game isn't a home run, just for the care and awareness you've given the pc means a lot. I can't wait to play and I hope this game sells well for you guys.

Already pre-ordered just because of how much support you guys are putting into the PC version.

Also, the game looks great. :)

Edit:
It's crazy, you never know what developer is going to pull through with an awesome PC game. I just played the Crysis 2 beta and it turns out to be a terrible console port. The first one was such a great game but they put zero effort into the PC version for number two.

I've followed this game since it's announcement. This isn't Activision that likes to scam people. Sorry you got scammed on Black Ops, personally I knew it would flop cause of all the problems between Activision and Infinity Ward at the time. Sure IW didn't handle the game but with Activision being so pushy with the franchise, something was going to give.

Kaos is putting a lot of effort into this. I rarely if ever do preorders but for Homefront I made an exception. Truthfully what finally decided it was seeing Digital Extremes name tied to this, the ones who worked on UT99. The $50 price helped too. I am outright refusing to support companies that release games on PC for $60 now. Specially digital versions which don't have all the packaging costs. I likely would have waited on Homefront had it been $60 intro price.

If Kaos had an open beta, they would have gotten a ton of publicity. Instead they pay to release 10,000 "soy based" balloons in a left leaning liberal tree hugging state, and end up with some serious bad PR as a result.

Brilliant move Kaos!

Homefront could be that big step towards reviving PC FPS gaming, those features are what developers have been neglecting for a long time thanks to consoles.

I was very concerned about Homefront's dedicated PC support, but now that I see it coming to a head, I find myself having trouble coming up with concerns. You guys have been fairly open as to what you guys are doing, and I'm certainly excited to see what I've got waiting for me on the 14th.

PS: The note about aircraft handling makes me even more giddy about the whole thing.

I have one thing I don't like what you guys are doing:

"Players can associate a clan tag with themselves via the options menus. Clan tags will be prefixed to player names in matches".

Please remove that, it pissed me right the hell off in Black Ops. If the game uses our Steam Usernames as our ingame names, we already have our clan tags in our names. I don't want two tags again and I'm not removing my tags because of one game.

I can see how that would come in handy for Console Gamers, but either remove it from PC or allow it to be an optional feature.

So...just don't use the in-game clan tag option? Problem solved. It's not like they're forcing you to use it. Black Ops was the same way. You could either use the in-game clan tag option, or you could just put it in your Steam name (or you could use both if for some reason you wanted to do that). Its always been optional.

So then I miss out on these features because I don't want a double tag?

The game browser allows players to sort games by the number of their clan-mates/friends present in each game.

· We have built in extensive dedicated server support, such that clan servers can be sufficiently managed.

· We have incorporated a robust demo recording interface which will allow clans to record their matches, useful in competitive game-play scenarios.

I dont see the issue. You'll still be able to record and you can still sort by friends. Your clan mates arent your friends on Steam?

Ok, this has prone, I'm buying it when I get a new PC...currently my PC is just above minimum specs so I have a feeling it won't be running very well for me, but this looks like it's going to blow Black Ops out of the water.

I liked BFBC2, I'd probably be playing that more instead of BLOPS but the lack of prone is just really, really, really annoying. Too many FPS lack prone, and it annoys the ♥♥♥♥ out of me.

I believe they are releasing the actual server binaries a couple of weeks after release. So until then you'll have to pay a GSP or join somebody else's server.

I do like the game so far, dunno how long I'll be playing it. Only complaint I have is Dx11 barely has any tessellation active for the game. Metro 2033, first thing I noticed with Dx11 were all the things popping out. No popping out whatsoever or very little in Homefront for a Dx11 game.

Don't forget to mention the 4hour patch download once you insatll the retail game

Just cause your Internet is bad and took 4 hours does not mean it will take that long for others.

It's been stated other places that there is no tesselation, only dx11 DOF

Hey, my lawyers will be contacting you. You did NOT deliver a workable product. It voids the contract in contractual law in the U.S.

So after all these hyped PC features, they forgot to fix the 'this button does this', framerate issues and horrible mouse acceleration (which simply screams I ported this from a joystick and didn't bother to fix it).

GG Kaos. And to think I was one of the people that supported you throughout Frontlines....

Threats of lawsuits over video games are always eye-roller material. There is a workable product, hell.. I've got it working on a number of machines. Is it perfect? Of course not, no game is released with perfection.

I bet I could dig up enough disgruntled users that can't run the game and find a judge that has a bone to pick with violent video games...

class action lawsuit, sign me up

one sure fire way is to target the ridiculous 5gb patch retail users have to download.. defeats the entire purpose of buying retail and many do it bc their internet is slow or dl limited.

That's the racketeer's role model, after he's sold the certainly bad product.
When he sees the customer coming back for the refund, he speaks exactly what you post.

It's freaking shameful disgrace, mister.

Can't believe I got fooled again(think frontlines fuel of war-another abandoned very shortly after release dog of a game) by thq/kaos.
The Mp could be good, but I doubt the changes/fixes will ever come.
Game will be dead in 3 months.
I will not be buying homefront 2 and will in fact discourage anyone else as well. gg thq/kaos.

I've been looking forward to this game for some time now, following it's progress in mag's and online,I finally get it on DVD last thurs only to find out that you only get half of the bloody game on the disk and you have to download the other 5 friggin gig through steam :/
Due to the fact I live on an army base (Australia) and that it's a pretty old Barracks the infrastructure here does not support getting DSL into the individual rooms,so now I've got to pay another $100 through my prepaid internet USB dongle to actually play the game that I've already payed for.
Very Very disappointing,Sorry Kaos but you've totally screwed it for me with anything else you release in the future,I'm not normally someone who would be like this, but damn if I get the DVD I want the whole bloody game on there. It doesnt seem like to much to ask for to be honest.
Yes I'm only 1 person but I'm sure I'm not the only person who feels this way.
