Hey all, just a quick question regarding VAC. Does it scan registry keys as well, or only dll's and exe's? (core game files)

It does all sorts of scans. Nobody can confirm everything it scans except that valve stated it doesn't actively scan your hard drive.

I see...asked because I had to delete several registry keys today on several programs because of a virus.

99.9%: A virus wont cause a VAC ban.

If it does, it will be quickly reversed. (The trojan that was found to earlier for example).

Pretty sure it only scans for changed memory and known cheats running in the backround.

Don't see how a registry would cause a VAC ban... but guess you never know.

Yes I know about that, still confused about the registry keys however.

imo, it sounds like to me, that you should not be poking around the registry but whatever your system.

no one here in this form can tell you what vac scans or what will or will not get you vaced..
