I was thinking to inviting some people at my house... And what could be better than killing hordes of zombie together ?:D
So i found this thread (http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=745113) where TheBusGuy explains how to set up the game.
And finally after hours lost i did it :o
But why not make an official support for this mode? (perhaps even with up to 4 player )
Or for multi-screen??

Waiting for an answer ;)

but you have to have 2 copy of L4D and 2 computer

then splitscreen sucks only on old 19" CRT monitor
with a 23-24+ " monitor (or multi monitor ) it become more enjoyable :p

and however the code it's already there (thanks to xbox)

There isnt support for split screen because its not often used on the PC, and to have up to 4 players it would require a really good computer

well, it depends
if you play with a single monitor splits in 4 parts (even if it can be a little stressful for the eyes) isn't realy bad (at least with a FULL HD monitor)
but now that i'm thinking about this i'm asking myself how it could be playing with more than a monitor
i'm not saying that all the people in the world will do this, but already that the code was written for the xbox version (except for the multi-monitor, but it isn't a very hard work), valve can do this without much efforts
and sorry for my english :p

The game already has support for split screen, VALVe just has to make it work better, like showing the right keys/buttons in context sensitive messages and making accessing split screen easier.

People who want it, will be happy with it (me included). People who don't want it because "lawl split screen sucks" can just ignore the option.

I don't care if I have to tone down the graphics to play split screen, at least I'll be able to play with someone else when there's no internet around.

Let me say this again. Split screen sucks. Who wants to play on a tiny screen? Pffft.

i have a 24" FULL HD monitor
if i play with a friend it's 1920/2 x1080 = 960*1080 pixel for both
i couldn't call "few" more than 1 million of pixel

and however i'm asking perhaps even multimonitor support (for nvidia graphics card, because ATI already have)

Dual 22" monitors with the split in the middle, each player gets his own 22" monitor. My brother and I play together all the time.

However, it works MUCH better in L4D2 since valve figured out that it's something people actually want on the PC. Unfortunately, the complete lack of any improvements in L4D splitscreen is further proof that valve has all but abandoned it. It's already been confirmed that they'll be porting the rest of the L4D maps over to L4D2 soon so there will no longer be any reason to own L4D1, except maybe for nostalgia.

Anyway, ya, splitscreen has it's uses on the PC.
