Lawls...I was wondering how long it would take before a thread like this showed up. Every midnight release that I can remember has been done midnight on the west coast/3am east coast.

Its just the way the cookies crumbles.

You can use the key that Steam gives you to get it off of EAs store. Although I asked someone that got it through EA and he's saying that it'll unlock at 3am EST.

I hate the fact that Steam didn't say anything about it being unlocked soley upon PST Time frames. I usually love Steam, but seeing this little snafu is a bit dis concerning. I'm anxious to play the game that i bought and now I can't cause they won't flip the switch for EST users. And it is possible for them to do this, why they do not I have no clue.

EA sets the time of release on steam. This is clearly EA's strategy to get some of steams action money wise.

Lol @ people complaining about 3 hours difference. Bioware announced to us (AUS/NZ) that we'd have it in 7.5 hours. Steam is going to make us wait another 42 hours.

It's not just steam so don't blame them. I live on the East coast, received a physical copy of the game at a midnight release at Gamestop, and still have to wait till 3:00 to play it. EA has a release date check that won't let you activate it till 12:00am PST.

Amazingly, we're aware of this. But Bioware themselves said that Digitally purchased copies would unlock at midnight (OUR time, which is 7 hours away). Steam have pulled some stunt and delayed for another 2 days. *facepalm*

Angry at steam for what? They're releasing at the exact same time as EA in north america. I just finished downloading the game (for the second time, already preloaded on steam) through EADM, and it's telling me the same thing as steam : will be unlock at 3am EST.

no, they aren't. at least, not in any large amount. you can use your steam provided cd key and go download it from EA. it will say locked until 12:00am pst
