They weren't exactly blown away by it - they seem to dwell more on what is not right with it. 7 out of 10 is not a bad score, but it is not something that Bioware and EA are going to be boasting about.
Still, I'd rather know what is wrong with a game as opposed to a reviewer just spouting on about what they like about a game - whilst taking the publisher's bribe and just letting the purchaser find out for themselves what the faults are.
I've already bought it on the strength of the former game. I'm sure it will be at least a good game.

Yeah, that sucks. I trust Gamespot the most and they pretty much summed up my fears. Oh well, I'll still play through it after work tonight.

Well, instead of basing all hopes on reviews, why not get the game and see for yourself.
Alien vs predator 2010 got a mere 68 rating, but to me, it deserves a 98, because the game rules.
Crysis however got a high score of 91, but in my opinion, it should have got 75, but no higher.
Its all down to personal opinion, alot of players judge the games by the reviewers ratings and try it out and look for faults and make crap up just to give it the same rating.
Even Starwars - The Force Unleashed got a low rating, the game rocks, i still play it each day, i would give it a rating of 85, everyone just had a sissy fit because of the 30fps lock, which makes no difference to me, the game is designed to run at 30fps, so it wouldn't put activity on the screen that made it to be unplayable.
In the end, alot of players just outright go by what other people say instead of figuring it out for themselves, they have brains, their own thoughts, i am thinking its about time people used them instead of going by what others think.

Kevin lost a lot of weight :D I sort of prefer the fatter one, he seemed more cuddly :D
Btw, I have Dragon Age 1 but I haven't played it yet because I'm busy. But I heard the controls got dumbed down for consoles in Dragon Age 2. So how does fans of the Dragon Age 1 feel and think about Dragon Age 2 after playing it? I'm happy to read a wall of text about this :D
Edit: And a lot of other things got dumbed down

Oh boy...
Reading the Gamespot review I came across this sentence:
You can also inch closer to love by selecting dialogue options marked with a heart icon, which makes the whole process of romance less mysterious--and more game-ish--than in the original Dragon Age.
I'm not sure wether to do a facepalm or laugh, tbh...
I guess in DA3 they'll just show icons depciting results and no texts, as a 'move forward in design...' when designing their PCtoNPC communication interface.

Cause not everyone wants to waste $60 on a game that's not worth it? The reviews are there to show people in doubt if their fears are valid or not.
In this case, the fears ARE valid, and the price point for this game is criminal.

I suspect people are going to fall into two camps; Those who prefer action-adventure and the more action-oriented direction of the new game and those who enjoyed the more tactical gameplay and (somewhat) more traditional cRPG feel of Origins.
I think it is pretty clear now that a lot of this 'streamlining' is simply the unnecessary removing and simplifying of systems from the first game, not making them more intuitive. Come on, showing me pictures to explain my dialogue choices? They do that with learning disabled folks...

The look on the reviewers face was that of gritted teeth as if he really wanted to give the game a lower score, but was not allowed to. That reviewer was the same guy who reviewed DA:O. If you go back and watch his other review (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MMcDLY8rbM0), you really can notice a drop in his over all enthusiasm from the first review to the second review.
He makes a good point about the features having no real reason to be removed as they were though.

Criminal? Really? Since when is charging an amount for a service that is not a "need" criminal. If the game is worth $60 to you, buy it. If not, then don't whine about it, wait for it to go on sale.
These people that complain about the price of the game are the first people to complain that the game sucks, or the grapics suck, or any other part of the programming sucks. If you want to play a top-line game, then they need to pay top-line programmers.
If you still have an issue with this, then YOU go and get a programming degree, YOU design the top end games, and then YOU decide to use your talents for free. Hipocrites.

Developers don't give games the prices, publishers do.

After beating Crysis 3 times, I can agree that it's pretty but not much else. Good storyline, in my opinion, but it did kind of suck. Plus, at the moment, I wouldn't give DA2 a perfect score either. A lot I like, possibly equal amount that I don't like. I can't wait to get my new rig, Medium graphics on PC look pretty dated in some areas.

The problem with game selling is that you pay to know if it worth it. Gamespot gave it 8/10? Reviews are bull♥♥♥♥ when the editor is a big editor (remember the case Gamespot/Eidos Kane&Linch). Lots of people will pay, thinking buying a 8+ game and will be disappointed finding it only worth 5~6.
Although, you're right criminal is not the correct word, $60 for DA2, It's a daylight robbery.
Here in France, jeuxvideo.com is known to overrate games (it's a kind of gamespot in french :p )and it only gave 12/20 to DA 2.
