View Full Version : Why is no one giving some love to crasher?

Seriously, its filled with LOVE! It has so much content and its very fun to play, developers keep updating it and adding new content and they promise that they will continue on supporting it.

its really heart breaking to see it not even making it to the top 20 on the top sellers list, you can try the demo and see if you like it, I personally loved it.

If it had TF2 items it would sell like crazy instead of being ignored, its only 5$ guys come on support the indie devs! Don't let this game die just like madballs, or do you prefer your main platform to be the Ipad in the future?

Well, I, for one, don't care about multiplayer-only games, so it's a no for me. Then again, it was just released. Give people time.

Sorry, for me if a game ain't SP it ain't worth playing. In fact when MP is included with the real game( the SP) I should get a discount for only getting half the SP content I could have had if they hadn't wasted time and money on another MP. ;)

Multi-player indie game with a dead/non-existent community? What is there to love?

I agree if there was single player at least we would have something to play.
online is kinda dead so it seems,so no fun buying a game but cannot play due to no players.

There is a nice little in game community that keep playing every day, and there is the online demo that you can try out, there is noting to lose there really.

I downloaded the demo to try this game since I like vehicular combat games (Twisted Metal for example).

I launched the game many times, only to see 0 player online. I mean, not a single one! Since this is multiplayer only, I cannot even try the game. Also a game with 0 player online is not a very good selling point.

I just tried out them demo sadly I only saw 2 ppl playing and I could not connect to either of their servers. I then tried MatchMaking and I never got into a game. It seems like a neat idea but I guess the community needs to get alot bigger first

There is a nice little in game community that keep playing every day...

Heard that line before in regards to games like Plain Sight, Booster Trooper, Breach, etc. Invariably such claims are false. Indie developers should really steer away from making multi-player games; at least until they have an established cash flow/able to meet their operating expenses by releasing a single player title or two.

Me and five-six other players used to play every day.
There is a very small community.

It's not bad game, I played it and quite enjoyed the multiplayer, but the game had bad launch, only few people know about it and that killed it...

Sounds fun but I'm not going to spend money on an MP only game that next week will be empty again.

Small developers should know this: making MP-only games is a BAD idea if you are a small developer.

Though I must admit I'd buy one if it supported bots, and I'd definitely pay $10 for a 4-pack so I can gift and play with people I know.

I'm more of a single player guy, but it does look fun if you're into that sort of thing.

EDIT: Also wth 1 Steam Achievement: First Launch. Is it you get an achievement when you fist launch the game?

After I bought Madballs.. in Babo: Invasion, or whatever it's called. I have stopped buying these MP-titles, Madballs was so dead when I checked it, like 3 people playing tota. At primetime. Got plenty of stupid games in my list and a whole lot of relativly good ones I need to get through first. Maybe next time :) .
Also, nice set of achivements they have there.

None of their games are MP only as far as I know.

You're right. My apologies for overlooking the detail.

The singleplayer aspects of their games are very secondary in application, though.

Likewise, I would have given this a go if it was (or rather supported) Single-Player and/or had a single-player campaign of sorts.

But as others have said, being a new dev and making a pure online MP game is either an incredibly brave gamble or an incredibly foolish one.

If I were them, I'd be hurrying bot support as soon as humanly possibly to try and rescue some sales, bringing that revenue in. Then they might get a chance to grow.

Ya this game is quite fake as it says it is including "Steam Achievements", and when you check you can see not really... That's what I call scam, but they know. :)

PS: The same with the pricing: they think $5.10 = 5.10€ :D ...

Exactly. For every successful indie multi-player game you find (and there aren't many) there are probably half a dozen or a higher ratio that flopped horribly.

Multiplayer indie driving games just don't appeal to me, tbh. If I had a spare £5, I'd spend it on Mafia 2, not this.

I watched a total biscuit review of this game as soon as it came out and i must say it looked pretty poor, nobody played it, it showed him waiting over 20 minutes in the queue with not a single game joined :(.

Meowthemouse

@ taz
It had a bad launch , it used to cost 30$ and no one bought it, and now that the price went down the population is growing.
The developers are trying to make people buy it, they are supportive releasing continuous updates, its a REALLY REALLY good game and I really hope it doesn't die and hope all the best for the developers.

@Niji89
go read and look at what I posted earlier, there is a screen shot with a "Full" server, people don't play 24/7 that doesn't mean they don't play. There is an active small but growing community, It is GROWING the 30$ price tag made people run away but people are starting to buy it, if you don't believe me go try the demo.

im ok with the multiplayer only thing, but i dont think the concept is that great i mean who turns a vehicle using the mouse? anyways its always good if you buy it, but i would stick to something thats has a charm like simple and nice, something like altitude or Magicka

I tried to play this game but the controls are rubbish and the gameplay is horribly confusing. There is no good way to jump in and start playing without having no clue what you are doing.

Are you actually promoting the game or trolling? I could probably find more action on Battlezone 2, Mechwarrior Mercenaries, or some other averagely succesful 10-15 year old game.

the game had a pretty poor start here on Steam. First it was priced at 30€/$ and got nearly no attention at all on the store page :O At the price it's now ^^ it's probably well worth it if theres enough ppl online ^^

I may as well post my thoughts.

On the amount of people: There just needs to be more people that'll give the game a chance. I personally love it, despite how few people I've seen in-game. I have, however, been in some good games in the short time I've played. There was a certain closeness you find only when in smaller communities that made the game that much easier to get into. It may be disappointing to not see many people in the game, but that could easily change with a little more faith from people.

On the controls: This seems mostly to personal preference. As well, if you'd looked at the key bindings, you can rebind something to turn, instead of strafe. But I personally like the controls. They remind me a lot of Borderlands, which I liked a lot for the reason of having more responsive turning than just a button. Mouse turning seems much more fitting to the game, especially since there are many weapons that are aimed manually, to fire to a picked location in front of you(which I've observed can be changed from close in front of you to far away by angling the view) or straight in front of you.

The game is five dollars right now, and even has a demo that lets you play with other people, with limited car choices. I say give it a shot. Come help support a community that needs the help, and we'll have a fantastic game to play together.

Don't let this game die just like madballs

I'm also one of the predominantly SP gamers.

I bought madballs on sale, and enjoyed the single player campaign. Never even tried the multiplayer. I would not have spent even $1 on the game if it had been MP only.

I'm pretty burned out on MP games. They always seem to turn into rat races if they're competitive, I always get someone way better or worse than me on my team if they're coop, and I have to coordinate my life with dozens of other people if they're MMOs.

I decided to take the benefit of doubt and purchase it after playing around in the demo, because it's so dirt-cheap at the moment.
Even though I'm having some performance issues and there's not always as many players online, I've enjoyed it quite a lot so far, and definitely think it's worth the 5 bucks, especially when taking future updates into consideration.

From what I understand, the developers are still working hard to improve many aspects of the game, and there is definitely a lot of potential.
The problem seems to be poor execution rather than core design issues.

I encourage anyone considering a purchase to give it a shot, if only for the sake of helping the developers out.
The game is mostly suffering from a lack of players and the initial high price, so with the current price drop, it's an opportune time to give it some attention.

I got the full game access on Steam a while ago (by accident?), and there is literally no one playing it..... I couldn't find a single person in the Matchmaking =(... I tried when it was in beta, and when the full version was out, and still no one. I just hope some people got it, but for me it's a No-No

Hi guys, bought the game yesterday and played a lot during these 35~ hours. It's a fun game, come join us! :)

I also made a video of gameplay here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o6bh_AS9XM8

It's fraps with 60FPS, a bit laggy because of that.

@demo you can play online and the game is still on sale for a few days so hurry up and try it! :D

Btw, a few people complained that there are no players online but I think that was the situation a month ago or so. Now it's easy to find games online and the developers are working to introduce bots and chatrooms :)
