So I am thinking about buying this game. I want to know how many people have already pre-purchased this?

I would, buy I'm just afraid to push my trigger finger on the purchase button because of all the hate, un-confident towards the game, and all the BF3 and RO2 trolls, I just need a little push, something that can promise me this game won't die in a month after release, and 5/10 from edge magazine doesn't help.

200,000 have preorded if you add all platforms together. I am one of them.

I've bought it too. It's really the only Battlefield-esque shooter that I know of that's coming out for awhile (no idea when RO2 is coming out, not my type of game).

it's not $60, BF3 and RO2 are months away from release, when I actually see the reasons why edge gave a 5/10 and was it the console version or the PC version they reviewed imho I don't give much credence to the edge review

Here's a thought: we see all sorts of trolls rallying against Homefront, thus when you play the game it won't be with those trolls and otherwise unsavory characters. Why do people use popularity as a measure of quality when they always hate the popular titles?

Edit: I bought a copy for myself and my brother.

I'm not measuring quality by popularity. I just want to have an idea of the community when it comes to online play.

I was on the fence until I remembered that if the 360 footage looks okay that the PC would look spectacular. I also have faith that the folks that made the Desert Mod know how too make a sold shooter. Throw in the Battle Commander and I was sold.

It's preloaded and ready to go for release.

Pre-ordered but still no pre-load
I can not believe we don't get a pre-load considering this is a Steamwork game and said game is already available for pre-load in D2D.
It doesn't make any sense.

I pre-ordered. Two games for the price of one, that's a steal, plus the game looks like a lot of fun and i'm all for one on modern shooters that have huge maps and random placed objectives.

Makes perfect sense.
D2D essentially sells retail copies...

They give you the CD key, and then give you the option to 'preload' which is just downloading the files that are on the disc.

I'm sure Steam will get a preload, probably over the weekend.

Here's a saying that almost everyone has heard of. What do haters do? THEY HATE! That's what they aim to do whether they've actually played the game in the first place. And if it's not BFBC2 OR MW2 or even Black Ops, its automatically a bad game. I've played two of the three games (BFBC2 and MW2) But to say this game is not any good without any data to back up your opinion isn't the way you go about making a point. And if you people actually did some looking around and reading you would've noticed that there is PC exclusive content for us only. Here's a whole list of things that the PC version will feature http://www.offdutygamers.com/2011/03/homefront-pc-exclusive-features/

So before you go and say PC games always get shafted do a little research before you make your self look like a fool.

I think once you open the iso it has the gcfs/ncfs and such. Then you will be able to move those to steam if you know where to put them.

At least that is what I hope :D

Digital Extremes...enough of a reason to give the PC Homefront a serious look. Exclusives on Xbox don't matter, they'll make it to PC later. Plus so far the exclusives I see aren't special. If people are sold on such piddy stuff, then they deserve to get bent over and shell out $60.

I have pre-order the game through Amazon. I think this game will be good in its own right. However, I do believe this game will do just average among most gamers. Mostly, because most people want better graphics and won't settle for anything less than bleeding edge. I for one want story and a complex gameplay. I've been gaming for as along as I can remember and the only game i'm looking forward to this year is this one.(BF3 2012 I think... ?)

I've watched as many gameplay videos as I can find and the ones that have a lot of comments tend to attract the COD crowd and you just can't compare when you have an more open battlefield than what you find in COD games. If you want to see what I mean about people comparing them to COD check out the youtube link.

You can use the preload to install the game... not until the game is released though.

You should just be able to replace E: with the directory of the extracted files.

Just pre-ordered mine from D2D. Got $10 discount AND got Metro 2033 free, so was too good a deal to pass up. I love Steam, and prefer to order from Steam, but when I can get it for 10 bucks less and still get Metro free, I gotta go to the better deal.

I don't play Tf2, so the free hat deal don't matter to me.
Also, I'm downloading it right now, just waiting 'til release to get the product key :)

I have it though it was mostly since I wanted Metro 2033; I tried a demo on Onlive and liked it... then when I got on Steam, I noticed that for 10$ more, I'd get both Homefront and Metro. 25$ per game is a good deal and I had seen some previews of the game and it seemed like it would be fun.
