Getting the word out

So I see we've got several people posting gameplay videos. Awesome.

Perhaps we should try to approach this in a more orderly manner. Let's see if we can't work out various ways of spreading the word about Crasher.

For starters, those YouTube videos, guys? Try posting them as video responses to other MOBA games or other videos on your channel.

Fraps seems to be a crapshoot with some of you; I know Vee commented in-game that his FPS dropped to 10 while recording. Anyone know of a good alternative to fraps for those with weaker computers?

For you guys that love TVTropes, Crasher's got its own page, but is in sore need of wicks. To start with, check the tropes on its own page, then go to that page and make sure there's a nice entry for it there.

The tournament I'm planning needs a definite sign-up list and a definite date. I'll keep the tourney-related stuff in that topic though.

If anyone else has any ideas on how to get the word out, let's hear it. Go ahead and post videos here, too, make a collection of them.

Yeah i play kind of bad while fraps is recording, but the video actualy is a little smoother.

What are you using to record?

I have an i7 975x 3.33 ghz quad core and a Radeon 6950 2gb, but while recording with fraps I'm getting 20-30 fps with spikes down to 7 quite often.

not sure what my internal specs are but i have core i5
on a dell xps an i can record with fraps at like 50somethin fps

The drop in performance you are seeing from FRAPS (or any other video capturing tool) is due to the huge amount of writes it performs. An external drive alone won't get you back to 60fps. You'll need some drives in RAID0 or an SSD so you don't feel anything when recording.

That said, I'm running some SSD's in RAID0... perhaps I should start capturing some footage.

^Do not do RAID0 for recording.
It's faster just to have one dedicated drive for recording.
Now a SSD..Thats a different story, but a lot of people do not have SSD'S yet.

P.S I'm not an idiot, thats the whole reason of having another drive is because of the writes the hard drive does.(Like I already suggested)
If a good HDD doesn't bring you back or close to what your fps was originally, more then likely your CPU is bottlenecked.
