Well, as i've finally played the game a bit, i have finally managed to save the world(?) without economy collapse, and INCLUDING both Africas & India, so i thought i will share.

I relied heavily on Tobin tax for extra cash and sponsored research for advances. Primary focused on whole world plitical stabilization ASAP, erecting level1 defences, changing attitudes and of course taxing heavily.
I also forced down population boom in most populous regions. Heavily propagate and sponsoring biofuels, renewables with spare cash. In this way i was able to spend some serious cash around, making a New Green Deal in about 2070s i think.
Only problem is, its now 2120, im about to ban last few fossil resources, but ofcourse nature took heavy pounding as my strategy prefers people before enviroment..
Temps are at 3.3, but i have about 5 regions running artifical trees and about 3 running aerosols now, seems managable to tell the truth. want to start cap&trade and resultings laws, but still spending heavily on 1st gen nano and geoengineering techs..
world emissions at cca 23k, world GDP at 145k
Well, i stop 'bragging' now :)
im pretty happy i did save civilization without collapse, and hopefuill about saving a bit desolated but still livable world :)

Congrats on avoiding the economic collapse, that is not easy to do !

How did you avoid the sea levels rising and flooding your regions? In all the games I've played, if the temp goes above 3 your screwed because sea levels rise and flood most of your nations reducing their GDP to 1.

Do you think you can get the temp to drop back from 3.3 to below 3 before 2200 ? What’s your pop at ?

thanks, and oh, floods reducing GDP to 1 is a bug, i played with 'my' community patch where it works as designed..

The temperature drop will be nasty to manage, i will have to divert far more funds to it to make it work..(also +20k emissions are far more than it sounds :( )
My pop is at stable 8mlds, with tobin tax in about 7 regions and HDI rising almost everywhere :)
