Hey my when MW2 came out I purchased it and enjoyed it for a very long time but about a year or year and a half ago I got banned from it because I was accused of rank hacking or some such, but I earned my rank fair and square and this guy reported me and I got a permanent ban for it. Now I have had Black Ops since it came out and have not hacked at all, and I have owned all previous Call of Duty games, and have never hacked once, and I continue to play these games along with Black Ops. So if I could please be unbanned or if someone can provide evidence of me hacking please do so.

Reporting won't get you banned, only cheating. Valve also has a no mercy policy. If you are banned you stay banned - there was only one exception when they banned people who had a virus on their pc.

Oh well, unless it was a trainer or something from another game it might be it, my account got hacked as well so that might of been the problem

Contact steam support, they have zero-tolerance policy on cheating, but if you think you were clean the entire time, it's worth a shot.

there was only one exception when they banned people who had a virus on their pc.

Wrong the only exception was when there was a failure and the files that VAC checks against did not update correctly after a patch it had nothing to do with a virus or the users PC it was on Steams end the problem has been fixed and all those who where affected where compensated.

@ OP as noted above VAC is an automated system that bans for know cheats only and changes to core game files.

Steam support will not help you, you will get the automated message saying

Thanks for contacting steam support...bla…bla…bla… bans are not over turned…bla…bla…bla if you wish to keep playing re-buy the game and remove any program that you might think caused the problem if you can’t find it format

actually you sir are wrong.

there is/was a virus that had the same signature as a detected cheat. Valve employees have verified it, and there were a few threads floating around where people got unbanned because valve realized that VAC flagged something that wasnt a cheat. unfortunately, the link i have to the thread doesnt work because the thread has been deleted. someone else may have a link though.

do some reseach.

Also, Valve doesn't unban accounts that get phished, keylogged or stolen through account sharing.

Why? Because Valve's stance on account security is that it is up to the account holder to make sure their account is secure. If the account gets compromised it is the fault of the account holder.

If your account got Hacked then this is most likley the problem.

Accounts do not get hacked.

They get phished, keylogged or stolen from someone you share it with. For an account to get hacked it would require the hacking of Valve's servers which would see thousands of people losing their accounts within hours or minutes.
