Has anyone gotten CS: Source dedicated server to run on Fedora Core 3? If so, I'd really love to know how you did it.
I get the following error during startup:
Console initialized.
Attempted to create unknown entity type event_queue_saveload_proxy!
Game .dll loaded for "Counter-Strike: Source"

change the game type from "counter-strike source" to just cstrike

hum i dont think he wants to host a cstrike 1.6 server ...
so whats the purpose of changing "counter-strike: source" to "cstrike". I have the same error with the following line :
./srcds_run -game cstrike +ip 192.168.0.1 +port 27015 +maxplayers 20 +map de_dust
I dont know why valve doesn't provide the sources to compile binaries for a specific machine :O
God save pre-compiled stuff!!!

it's a bug with some machines.. it still runs the source server.. for sum reason it only werx with cstrike... instead of "counter strike source" I had it happen to one of my boxes

Exactly the same error here on a clean stock install of FC3.
This has been mentioned on server.counter-strike.net too.

And the fix?
set MALLOC_CHECK_ to 0 and everything works.

Same here on FC3, identical error (on 2 different machine).
The game runs fine on RH9, but we're planning to leave RH9 (due to updates end such).
After some testing we'll forget about RC3 for now and continue on Gentoo (kernel 2.6.9-r4) seems to work without any problems on every hardware we testen (amd/p4/xeon).
