dont bother. Theres the Q9550 but youd be dropping $200+ on that, same price as a 2500K.

Here are your selections from the Core 2 quad lineup:

BTW, your CPU is not 1066MHz FSB in case you are really looking for a new one and goofling for it.

may as well get a new Gen2 I7 2500 based rig..
I'm currently on X9650 and waiting for Q3-4 for the Sandy Bridge EX (S2011) CPU's then I'm upgrading..
I think you would be wise to do the same or get a S1155 based rig now...
Over clocking is also an option If you board supports it..

That would be a good upgrade..
Perform's a little better than 1 of my hd 4890's http://www.anandtech.com/bench/Product/175?vs=180
And there's not many game's I can't play with high or very high setting..
Intel X9650 3G CPU FYI

The Q8300 has a 1333Mhz FSB the Q/QX9650 is the top dog at that bus speed IIRC the next step is the Q9770 with a 1600Mhz FSB..
OC the Q8300 if he/you can and Get a GTX460 or better GPU..
The 460 you posted will do fine IMO..
The other option is HD5770 the choice is yours, The 460 has better performance though..

Well another Fail design of a card, the only way to clear out all the dust is to unscrew it but theyve put screws UNDER the design only was to get threw is by pealin it now it looks ♥♥♥♥ but its cool again.

They are a bit of a PITA but really not all that hard. First you remove all the back screws and might have screws on the backplate where the outputs are. Once you've remove all screws the HSF will come off, from here you remove the screws on the HSF side so that the plastic cover and fan can be removed.

Just be careful during both the HSF removal and re-install stages, make sure you remove/clean the GPU core of old thermal paste and re-apply new thermal paste to the GPU core chip. The VRAM chips should have thermal pads on them. Ensure they are not fully of dust as well as some might stick to them, then make sure thermal pads are re-aligned with each VRAM chip before you re-install the HSF back again. Re-install should be done slowly and as precise as you can be so as not to disturb the thermal paste on the core and move it around during re-assembly.

You should just buy some canned compressed air. You don't need to remove anything.

Thats not what i was trying to do, you can get inside the HSF theres a metal grill in there - its packed with dust!
