Ok, Can you be banned again simply for using the same email address on new cd key and new Steam account if an account had been banned prior for cheating infractions on same email address as new account ?

Does VAC track screen name and IP address to ban even though you went legit ?

Just not possible VAC picks up hack/cheat scans only on auto bans because of detections of hacks or cheats. Go into the servers you will see all the cheaters who have been playing since release that somehow fly under the radar.

VAC is infact not an Anti Cheat provision instead and anti cheater provision. Unlike Punkbuster VAC does allow you to hack/cheat your brains out for how ever amount of time it takes to get caught. Still totally unfare...... I bought Black Op's when released played all the way up until Prestige 3, got so tired getting my ♥♥♥ handed to me by cheats and hackers. So to be competetive I got a hack CODH all I will say. Played for 2 months or so until one day bam banned with good reason. I was jarateed 290 hours down the tubes, so I bought new key. Played legit for awhile, again got tired of the cheaters ( cant beat em join em ) to kick there butt's......

Couple weeks went by banned, darn right. So I said ok to hell with the cheating got new cd key again new email new steam so on, LEGIT only banned within 3 days. Never once did I cheat. Once again new cd key new steam, same result. Never once cheated twice and VAC says I was. Not a trace of any kinda hacks or cheats on my system. So thats twice banned without cheating, 3rd times a charm ?

I want to play I am going to be honest, I plan on starting my own ranked server, but not if im going to be banned constantly just cuz VAC says and not give any proof to an infraction of the terms and conditons. I have read about several cases of bans without cause whether or not they are valid I dont know, But I do know there are quite a bit of posts about legit bannings. I do know the last time I played I was on a server beleive it was LIGS Bacon Ops and I noticed ther were quite a few hackers in the server, twice the game went heywire and into spectator mode and the admin said it was due to hax and to turn them off or down. I play HC only so there are tons of hax in there beacuse of no kill cam.

But you can always set up more GMail accounts and redirect all mails to your primary account. I have this setup here, I have about 5 email addresses for various places and all the mails land in my main inbox.

you can have as many accounts on one email as you like.
just with creating an account you might get stoped because of an existing email.

my provider was changing so I registered 6 accounts on my hotmail with no problem.

You obviously still have that cheat running; backup, reformat, don't cheat again.

Sorry for the low life's bashing you man, You're account may be blocked to play online due to same email address. Yes Mods are blocking accounts that are linked with the existing Email so just make up a real and new one.
Cheating is up to Each Individual I'm not saying its right or wrong I'm just saying, Don't make the choice for that Individual.

Nope, email/IP address/hardware ID's have nothing to do with VAC. You got banned for having a hack on your system that was running in the active memory or modified core files while you were in a secured server. VAC works on a Steam ID by Steam ID basis. Subsequent accounts were banned because the hack that you had on your system was still being registered. If you're not 100% sure how to remove all traces of the hack form your system the safest way to make sure its gone is to format your drive & reinstall everything. You have no one to blame but yourself. Try being mature & develop some skill instead of hacking.

Yanno, the more I read on these VAC bans the more I think Valve is making money from people re-buying their games. So, in essence, you (the cheater) support THEIR VAC security system. The more you cheat the more Valve makes money off you.. if you dislike Valve, then don't buy Valve-based games, or at the very least, don't cheat!

This would only be true if they implement hardware based bans.. but trust me they WILL NOT do this.. it isn't in their best interest.

Just like "Overdraft Courtesy" is in the best interest of the banks, since they can charge you a "fee" for every time you "over draw". To eliminate that from the bank would mean huge profit losses...a way to side step the issue nowadays is to charge you for not having "Direct Deposit" (Wells Fargo/Bank of America), they side step this issue because there is NOW a law in place for you the consumer to "opt out" of the "Overdraft Courtesy", they deal with this financial loss by attacking something else.. in this case the "Direct Deposit Fee".

Ok, thx for all the input everybody. Yeah I dont know Im pretty good on computer stuff and have been doing my homework about how clean out you pc without a format and reboot. I have taken all the steps so if its in my system hiding somewhere im oviosly going to have to go that route.

So I dunno, im debating on whether or not I will play again. Still in limbo about it. Crysis 2 is out so thats been consuming my time atm. When im not at work.

So how would a hack run if in fact you dont activate it and be detected ? I wiped out the %temp% files. I only had one file hidden in a zip file stashed on my hard drive and just simply deleted it buy a new cd key and get a new steam account.

could we say VAC is actually working side by side with the hackers and singling out the ones that would just fall into a curtian catagory?

Again, I'm not too familiar with how hacks are installed/implemented but I'll try to answer you anyway. Did you check your registry for traces for the hack file(s) to make sure it wasn't there?

Also, Valve may send you an email, but they won't tell you why they banned you or what cheat you had, they'll only confirm that the ban was legitimate.
