No sound at all

I have had this game for a while but only tried to play it today.

It is the Steam copy - I have a hardcopy of Escape from Butcher Bay but I don't believe it is installed.

When I launch this game I have no sound at all. Not in the pregame logos, not in the menu and not in game.

I really enjoyed Butcher Bay but a search of google and these forums does not indicate other people had the same problem.

Please help if you have heard of this.

I had the same thing just now, but I restarted steam after quitting the game and now the sound is back. Hope it works out as easy for you...1 years later...

Same here, running it on Win 7 64 bit, sound constantly dissapears, only thing that solves it is if i switch between windows, minimizing the game and then maximising it again, really addictive game this;)
