Amanita Design has already decided that they are not going to be making a sequel to Machinarium.

Just wanted to let you know.

I am actually glad that they aren't doing a sequel for Machinarium. It was great how it is, and while pretty much every game they do is great, they are wise to stay away from a Machinarium sequel.


Samorost3 and Botanicula look great, I'm really amazed at what they are aiming to pull with those. Osada certainly looks interesting too.

Botanicula should release around the end of this year, Samorost3 however, is still a few years away from release.


Good news for PlayStation 3 owners, Machinarium is headed to that platform, and they are planning on releasing it, and Botanicula for tablets as well (as PS3).

I would like to see a Machinarium 2 only because I fell in love with the environment art Amanita had created. Something about machines and looping minimalist music made it really easy to imagine a world like that - it would be a great waste if they just ditched the idea altogether.

The story/characters could be different, but the ideas and concept should be what remains in Machinarium 2, if it ever comes.
