Let me warn everyone ahead of time, I'm not very tech savy.
My buddy and I are trying to play Multiplayer. I hosted and invited through Steam. He got a message saying server not available.
I went to my Verizon Fios Router through IE and clicked Port Forward. This page has a bunch of rules already. I tried creating a rule to add port 7777 (I have no idea how to do this so I guessed from this point on). Sanctum was not on the list of games / programs I have so I clicked custom ports. Below is the rule I ended up making.
Vincent-PC
192.168.1.2
Destination Ports 7777
TCP Any -> 7777
UDP Any -> 7777
All Broadband Devices
Active
Am I barking up the wrong tree? I attempted to host again, it didn't work.
I did buy the game for my son as well who lives with me. We managed to get the game to work using the IP address option. My guess is, I did something wrong with the port forwarding because connecting via steam is not working.
And here comes a stupid question, can my buddy use the IP option to connect, or is that option for a LAN only network?
Thanks in advance.
