Nothing happens when I push "play"

Just as the title says: I push play in Steam and it just takes me to the Darkspore page with the videos.

Tried inputting the key for the beta in the steam interface, but it says its an invalid key. Copied and pasted directly from the steam popup. No dice.

Not impressed. :(

Well, still nothing. Reinstalled. Clicked the box:

"Play the Beta now! Click here to install. Must have Steam installed."

But when I click to play, it just routs me back to the steam home page for Darkspore. Is there something I'm missing? The game doesn't even try to load.

I have the same problem, all my drivers have been updated, all updates installed, and even validated the data cache. It worked during the non-steam beta, but now even that doesn't work. It seems to begin the start-up, but then crashes, and goes to the darkspore page in steam (kinda as an ad hinting at buying the full game)

I have the same problem. I tryed launching it from the .exe in the steam folder also. It said i was missing WindowsCodecs.dll seems the game doesnt install all the files it needs.

Well, I downloaded that file, and put it in with the other application extensions, and there is no progress... how did you even get it to display that? It is not showing me any error message whatsoever. BTW, I just googled the file to find it.

The strange thing is, I was in the beta before, and even the older file to play the beta won't open anymore. (I have since then uninstalled it, just in case that was interfering)
