It's a pretty fun game but damn, you can barely zoom out and it's really hard to navigate/explore when you can only see 5ft ahead of you.
Also, it'd be awesome if they included key mapping and let us use wasd to move instead of mouse but it isn't that big of a deal since most games of this genre play like that.
Yea the camera is definitely closer in than I'd like. Still I'm already pretty used to it.
And yes wasd control would be awesome.

Ya a little more zoom-out-ability would help. The in-game feedback process might work for this too.

WASD was ruled out since it would become to complex for the average player. Which is understandable, since your hand is glued to 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and the space bar so that you may use your abilities.
I think there was another reason from the Devs, but I can't quite remember it right now.
As for zooming out further... completely agree!

WASD to complex? lol what?! Every mmo in existence uses WASD and almost every key on the keyboard for skills and it's no problem.
If you allow keymapping, people can customize the skill keys to whatever is comfortable to them. But 1-2-3-4-5 and space bar can easily be pressed anyways while using WASD. At the very least, add wasd as an option you can turn on or off. More options never hurt anyone. I can't stand using mouse to move and attack, it's annoying as hell

I love when programmers hate doing their job (sarcasm obviously), have you not played any major mmos or even a point and click on a console? the thumbstick would usually give you the equivalent of a wasd control. I don't want games to go back to early point and click ONLY RPGs

Fortunately for you folks, the zoom level should be a quick thing to tune up a bit. ;)

The other reason they mentioned is that it just generally changes the feel of the game. It changes how you play the game, and what the difficulty is like. When that happens, it becomes really hard to make enemies that are balanced to be challenging for both control styles. If you balance them for mouse & keyboard, they're too easy for WASD, and if you balance them for WASD, now they're too hard for mouse & keyboard. You could make the mobs shift difficulty depending on which control scheme you're using, but now players using different controls can't play together, and it's harder to find people to play with. It just makes everything really complex to try to do, in the end.
It took me quite a while to be convinced that they'd made the right decision, but eventually they won me over. I'm not much of a fan of "click to move & attack" control schemes. Magicka's kind of annoyed me, for instance. But for some reason it felt a lot better in this game. I'd suggest people that are worried about it give it a chance for a few levels, and see if they warm up to it. Sorry to everyone that doesn't end up liking it, though!
