steam overlay?

i searched through the forums and i found that there are topics on this..that steam overlay doesn't work. What about now?

playing emulators like kega over steam supports it since it is able to render the emulation with direct3d/opengl but what about this one? software renderer?

The overlay still does not work. Hitting escape in game takes you back to the selection window so you can see the desktop, and it allows you to reenter the game where you were last at so it is not too bad.

I am not sure what the renderer is for this emu, but its pretty safe to assume it is done through software. The game folder lacks any redistributable folder for directx or any other API.

oh well..steam overlay was the only reason i wanted it...i guess i won't be buying the genesis collection anytime
