... the game is no longer in my "Library" list?

I tried starting up the game forgetting the beta had ended, and I got the message "This game is no longer available for free."

"Ah, well duh!" I say to myself. I go back to the Library and absolutely nowhere do I see the game list for Darkspore Beta.

I hit the D key a few times to cycle through my games that start with that letter, just to make sure it didn't get randomly moved. It's not there.

What is the best way to remove this game from my hard drive (with all its extra files everywhere) other than deleting the Steam folder with the game inside?

*Edit: I did restart steam*

*edit 2: friend told me it's in "Uninstall Programs" under control panel... bwah bwah*

I'm not sure if I want to uninstall my client yet... An EA person lurking around here said that there will probably be more Beta sessions after the last one, but I don't know if we'll have to download a new client or if the one we already have will work... I won't uninstall mine until the new Beta hopefully comes. Who knows, maybe it'll work? I don't mind having it sitting there in my computer for a while, got plenty of space. x3

Yeah, hopefully when the next beta phase rolls out we can just patch the game up to the newest version instead of having to download the whole thing again. Doesn't show up in my Steam games list anymore, but theres still a Darkspore folder with about 5.4 GB in it that I (hopefully) won't have to download again for the next beta.

This is why it's better to download the game fromt he darkspore site instead of Steam.

Program Files > Steam > Steam Apps > Common Files.

Exit steam first.

You made a statement disconnected from any information backing it up.

What are you talking about, and why should be think it's true?

How is that? I still have Darkspore installed and can still run the launcher, but with the server offline now its useless anyway regardless of where you downloaded the game from. Steam removed the game from my games list but it didn't do anything with the files.

That's why he's saying it's better. If you had installed it out of Steam, it would simplify the uninstallation process.

How so? You uninstall the game like you would any other non-steam game.

Downloading it from somewhere else doesn't simplify anything. Everyone uninstalls it the same way as far as I can tell. If they had included steam functionality and allowed you to uninstall from Steam that would have been an added convenience, but I hardly consider removing it from programs and settings in control panel inconvenient.

Hmm, I guess you're right.
