AAC format isn't currently supported by the game.

From the store page -

Play your own MP3s, OGGs, and WAV files.

AAC and FLAC (and possibly some more esoteric formats to appeal to all audio nerds) have been mentioned as being targets for implementation by Dejobaan but no timeframe has been given as to when (or even if) they'll become supported. Keep the faith though.

Make sure they're un-DRMd AAC as well. Not likely to ever play those.

you can make mp3s out of your aacs there should be an option in itunes

...or, as opposed to re-compressing them even further, just decompress them into WAV. If you're just using them in Kick It then the lack of most modern OSes being able to read/understand that WAV actually has a tagging format shouldn't be too much of a pain to tolerate.

You can do that in Beat Hazard, if you pay a small fee for an plugin supporting these. Not even a buck to cover the costs.
