If I, lets say, buy "Destiny of Velious" off of Steam, can I just take the CD-key and put it on my account through the EQ2 site and not use the Steam client to play?
I was just wondering how its done. Buying offa Steam is the cheaper method for me, but I already have an EQ2 account and don't want it to be associated with Steam.

Yes you can, and it's recommended.

Agreed. I've said it before, and I'll say it again; the only reason to buy an MMO through Steam is if there's a really good deal going on. I love Steam, and use it constantly, but there's really no point to it for an MMO, which already includes it's own updater client.

I like being able to access the steam friends list and stuff (including the new picture taking ability) of Steam.

I run it from Steam so I can track how much time I've been wasting on MMOGs :).
