Are DS I & 2 going to work with newer operating systems?

I used to play Dungeon Siege on an old Windows 2000 PC but I tried loading the CD's up a few months ago and had a terrible time getting it to work on Vista and Windows 7. The game didn't support any high resolutions and it crashed to desktop all of the time.

Have the steam versions wrinkled any of that out or are #1 & 2 going to run just as bad as if you had the discs?

Someone let me know when they've tried it!

I can't get DS1 to run on Win7 64bit. DS2 runs fine, though.
