I've bought the game today and I've played through the Single Player 25 waves. During this playthough, I did notice that the colors change per level, but the difference is somewhat hard to distinguish.

The Top View allows you to see a global overview, but I found it a bit obscure. The colors range from gray-white when un-built, white, faint yellowish, yellow, faint orangish, ping-reddish to red. Determining if a Tower is a level apart is quite difficult. The same goes for weapons, too.

I think that, especially for a fast-paced TD game, the colors should be more apart and a little more bright for a quick overview of the map. Same colors go for weapons.

A suggestion;

Unbuilt - Remain gray
Lv 1 - Cyan
Lv 2 - Blue
Lv 3 - Green
Lv 4 - Yellow
Lv 5 - Orange
Lv 6 - Red

Determining what towers are where can be quite tricky in Top Down view as well. An option could be that the platform changes shape per type of Sentry.

For example, I've tried to build on top of Lv 1 Gattling Sentries many times because the top looks nearly the same as an unbuilt block. The block could instead feature a large square lit area, with an unlit square in the middle. The Lightning Bolt could feature lightning-bolt shaped light panels.

Perhaps even a spot-light effect that the colored light shines on the tower..? That would be amazing in Night-time levels.

I think it would be cool if the Gattling Guns' shield changed colour too.

Thanks for the feedback.

We will try to enhance the feedback when we get the time. We've already iterated over this issue once. Earlier we had different colors but it was hard for the player to connect the colors to levels..

Therefore we made the scale it's now, as it follow some kind of logic scale.

While I agree that the current color scheme is hard to tell at a glance, at least going "down" the threat level color spectrum is easy to comprehend. So while I'd love to see improvements, I think the Devs did a good job with the current build.

I'm having a hard time connecting levels to this scheme, because the colors are too close to each other...

On a very serious note, you may be slightly color blind... As shown on this page, each level of tower has a unique color. But admittedly the default "gray" is not very clearly different than the "tan" of first upgrade level 2 -- but the difference is there!

If you can't see the difference it might be due to those colors "grouping" for your eyes.

I have difficulties telling some of the colors apart as well, to be honest. And I can say without a doubt that I am not colorblind.
