Turn some people into raging forum hitlers....myself included.

I mean, in person im kind and polite. In forums I find myself being really horrible, condescending even and i dont mean to.

I have to stop myself before I type and think, how will this be interpreted...

Anonimity brings out the cyber bully in some people.

And is "forums" not "forurms"!<---see

Somebody is going to post that picture, normal person + anonymity = raging something.

Well, the threat of physical retribution isn't nearly as likely on a forum, for one thing.

It's a government conspiracy to make you believe you're talking to real people on the internet. Everyone here is in fact highly advanced chat bot. Facebook is in fact a bunch of bots posting pictures of real people who have been turned into robots. None of you are real! Get out of my head! Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhh!

*runs around wildly*

Actually, it's been proven that Ultima is a Secret Agent Cowboy Astronaut Millionaire Alien. Other then that you may be correct.

You probably just need more social interaction IRL. If you don't have balance then you're going to get crazy.

Anonymity hasn't stopped me from anything. I tell people in person the same things I say online.

I'm a lot terser and more sarcastic in person. Mean wouldn't be the right word for it, but regardless, I appear nicer when known by my written word.

Plus, being a self-serving jerkwad isn't a glamorous life.

sometimes i can be a little more mean than i otherwise would be, but generally i'm the same person.

i'm not the sort of person who has an internet persona. :p

I tell people in person the same things I say online.

Does that mean you're gonna tell someone that you say the same things in person as you do in real life?

Heh I don't get what you're saying, it sounds like the same thing.

What I mean is I don't have a problem telling somebody something in person the same thing I would say to them if they were online.

Hope that's a little more clear

Tannekr

I'm pretty sure that's just code for telling someone online that you told someone in person that you say the same things in person as you do online.

Dont worry OP, its not you, its the human condition. We feel safe behind a screen, where we have no repercussions when we tell someone to blow off, that theyre a moron, etc. Its like when you see someone get punked, theyll wait for their bully to walk away before they say something along the lines of "I was just about to punch him but he walked away" and the like.

meh, no difference here, I`m just as much a smart aleck on teh interwebs as I am on the streets.

It`s all public places, so as long as you don`t forget how public internet really is, it doesn`t really change much. If anything, it`s better to be nicer on the internet. Stuff on the internet can really travel fast, and haunt you longer than whatever you do on your own block.
