Sound Crackling

Firstly I have to admit that I don't own the Steam version of this game but I'm not sure where else to post about this issue.

During battles when ships are firing off their weapons the sound begins to crackle and make strange noises. I've done a lot of searching on google and tried as many solutions as I could find but still can't get this fixed. Other people have had this issue as well but I couldn't find anyone who's found a way to fix it.

It's only on this game, on all my other games the sound sounds great. This issue is really keeping me from playing this game until I've found a fix for it which really sucks cause this game is fun.

If anyone's found a solution or has any suggestions feel free to hit me with them.

edit: oh and I have the latest Realtek drivers as well.

I have this problem on my Xonar sound card (at least in the menus, didn't try battles), but not with my Realtek integrated audio. Don't know the fix though.

The sound is very scratchy for me too. Could just be low quality.

I had this problem on an older laptop, and I could never get it fixed. On my new laptop, it sounds great. Not a quality issue, but some incompatibility somewhere.
