To those of you who aren't as well traveled in the gaming world as my self and many others; do your self a favor and buy this game.

Yes, it may look dated. And it most certainly is.
But it's one of those all time cult classics.

Much love to Steam for reviving this gem!

I'd love to buy these games, but I happen to be short $3.74.
Would anyone be kind enough to spare $3.74 for me?

Finally, I've been waiting for this sale. Not to mention Bully. Best sale in a while.

They are not available in my country.
I will gift you any game up to $5 if you gift me both Max Payne games. No risk for you because I will gift first. PM me please.

careful if you are running win7 64bit. You need a specific Nvidia driver release to run these games properly it seems.

I wouldn't know about the specific driver. I have a geforce 9800gtx+ on 256.88 and it runs normal on all high. Sound works too without messing with anything.

It doesn't even look very dated, it's still very good looking IMO

Also this game uses DS3D so for EAX and hardware 3D you need to use ALchemy or similar software in Windows Vista/7

But indeed, it's a great game! Buy it!

Runs good on my ati radeon mobility 4200 series card. though the audio messes up a bit in max payne 1

I never played it before so for $3.74 for the set figuered I'd try it.
So far I'm very happy with it, graghics are dated but it's good enough for me at the price.

Using win7 64 with GTX280 driver 260.99 and yes the sound works.

Yes, I've been waiting several years for Max payne to be cheap enough on Steam, so I can forget my Max payne retail discs :D. I like digitalizing my games :D.

Sometimes I wonder if steam makes sale after my wishlist :D

I don't need ubergraphics, bad game control and bad game. Like many games today. I only want fun games like this bundle :D.

I'm a little in debt and I needed something to perk me up.
Both Max Payne games for less then a fiver? SOLD! The fact someone stole my copies of both years ago can finally be forgotten.

I also picked up the Payne games, having never played them and only heard good things about them. One problem I encountered immediately with Max Payne 1 was a sound issue, half the sounds seemed like they were "broken". It's a Vista/Win7 issue. Here's the original thread with the fix that worked for me:

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=848215

It just requires downloading a ZIP, extracting everything to your steamapps/common/max payne directory and running the batch file to convert the sound files and launch the game. Hope this helps any one out that hadn't found the fix yet.

I know very little about the games, but picked them both up anyway due to all the praise they received.

But ahaha, that back log of games I have to play now when uni holidays come is getting pretty big now .

Oops, I spoke to soon, max Payne 1 has the broken sound, the talking seems ok but gun fire and effects are weird. Still ok though I'm going to play some more.

You're a legend, thank you.

These are two of my all time favourite games. To me they prove that a great story really makes a game into something special. I love Max, he's a great and interesting character - especially in the first one with that face. Here's hoping they don't ♥♥♥♥ him too much in number 3. I'm already kinda disgusted that he lost the Hawain from the first one.

definitely. game mechanic works quite differently. im mp1 bullet-time drains faster but also your movement are slower, and dodging also costs bullet-time. it's also harder. and longer. and more adrenalin-boosting.

Well until my game actually LAUNCHES, this is the WORST 4 dollars I have ever spent.
