Cake Mania Main Street doesn't run need HELP pls!

The game works fine(albeit a bit laggy) up to the end of the first level, when the screen goes black, the music keeps playing and it's stuck like that :(

compatibility issue or what?`

i am running Windows 7 and have an ATI 5850!

i often get troubles like these with casual little games like this while big games run fine strangely enough :(

any advice?

I have no trouble running the game but it does feel very laggy and slows down considerable on the menu screens. Have you tried running it in Windows XP compatibility mode and disabling themes and stuff?
