I used to be a hardcore Diablo 2 player back in the day (1.03-1.09). Is this game similar?
I didn't like WoW all that much and Rift was okay. I know they're MMOs and darkspore is an ARPG, but I just wanted to let ya know how my tastes are.
I just wanna get back to some decent hack n slash action with godly loot worth hunting for.

It's certainly a great game. The controls are tight, and the camera angles are like you would expect from a good ARPG. It has a nice lot of loot and I have only played beta so I havnt even gotten in that far. At the end of the round you get medals, gold, silver and bronze, for completing objectives. Depending on the medal type depends of what % chance of getting a rareified or purified from rolling a dice. You can choose to collect your reward at the end of a level or you can risk it all and play another Level for even better items. Plus loot drops during missions aswell. So there is no loot shortage. Plus because of the cutomisarion, it has the minecraft syndrome. You have to work to create a hero exactly the way you want it. So you must play to create something unique to you. Therefor it has a very replayable single player/ co-op mode. Plus there is PvP so you will spend a tone of time choosing 3 out of the 100 heroes to use in PvP and you will probably want the best heroes for PvP so you play for better loot. The whole "3 heroes in a squad and changing between them during combat" really gives a tonne of options aswell.

Thank you.
I never played the original Spore, is that a necessity before playing this game?
