So portal 2 was awesome, I pre-purchased on steam, played it, great. Then I hear the PS3 version comes with a code to unlock a free copy of the game on Steam. So my question is where is my free copy of Portal 2 for the PS3?

Is is just me or do PC players always seem to get shafted with stuff like this. Ok, we pay less for most games, normally have superior graphic and options and all that... But it is the little stuff like this or not getting a Limited Edition version of certain games. Like CoD with the NV goggles or Dirt 3 with the Traxxas R/C car, where is the PC version?

PS3 purchasers get for free, what I paid $44.99 for, just seems a little unfair to me is all.

@op search the forums before posting repeat threads...

I'm sure Sony doesn't allow to make PS3 games free. And, Steam is operated by Valve, the developer of Portal 2 so Valve can do anything Portal 2-related in Steam. PlayStation 3 is operated by Sony, and Sony may reject that Valve wants.

@FusedCore forum search engines have to be the worst thing on the internet, anything I enter comes up with nothing and then I have to wait 60 seconds to try again, I don't have that kind of time, do you have a search suggestion that would bring to the thread you mentioned?

@SiPlus_HWGUY I completely realize that valve is not going to send me a PS3 copy of Postal 2 in the mail. I was trying to make a point about how it just seems a bit unfair.

Had you read the FAQ thread stickied to the top of this forum, you would not have needed to search or to create this thread.

Think of it this way: it was a promotional thing to attract more people to PS3 version.

Most people who got Portal 2 probably were initially thinking of getting it on either PC or 360, so PS3 could've got less sales. Why PC? Well, that's obvious, so no need for me to say it. And why 360? Well, most non-PC FPS players happen to be on 360. And since Portal 2 is a FPS of sort, naturally they would have picked either of the two over PS3, even if they also owned PS3.

I'm sure the whole "free PC copy with PS3" generated quite a bit of sales for PS3 version, as expected.

My 2 cents.

Um, considering you can actually play online right now and people on the PS3 can't, (hell, they can't even get their free steam version since the PSN is down) I'd say you have no reason to QQ. At all. The console versions were also 10 dollars more expensive, and probably aren't getting the DLC we will probably be getting for free.

The PS3 will get the DLC for free, and both the PS3 and 360 will get access to mods and community maps.

Actually, I can play... but on the free PC copy, not the PS3 (sad).

I linked my PSN & PS3 on the day of launch (a.k.a. the day before PSN shut down), so I'm actually glad.

Valve does own Steam, they can add games to Steam accounts.

No clue how they'd go about it actually, either through Steamworks or what you suggested.
