Sad news.

Mindscape has decided to shut down it's French development studio Punchers Impact according to a former employee's twitter (which was removed shortly thereafter). Punchers Impact was also working on Lucha Fury, which is still scheduled for release on XBLA/PSN. The servers for Crasher will remain online for the time being, but since the game has the ability for players to host their own games/servers, the game itself may live on as long as people are willing to play/host.

If this is true, Crasher should be put on sale for 2.99 or something, it would sell a lot as it is a good game. Once people start playing it the price should go up to $10. This may save the game.

They should of done that in the first place, there too stubborn.
You get people to buy it first, then jack the price up.So now you have a community.

Very bad news. I hope that the servers will not shutdown. What a mess! But Crasher is DOA due desert servers.

I really hoped they would make it so that everyone would be level 1 at the start of each game, i just feel discouraged when i joined a game as i was level 6 and the other team level 39...come on...

dota or hon would never work with that concept.

Thats because dota games don't last 5 minutes like crasher CBA games do.

Restarting at level one each time would be stupid. Also, all the useful stuff is pretty much unlocked by level 12.

Playing without items isn't that bad anyway. When I restarted on EU servers I had to do it too.

So, the U.S. servers are never coming back?

Dammit, this was a good game.

If there was a dota mod, i belive it would not have a 5 min time limit. I would not mind playing this game 30-60 minutes in dota mode. :D

The poor people who payed 30 bucks for this....

I was never able to play it anyways because of the lag on ATi cards.....I guess it won't hurt to ask for a refund for this crap

Lolol, I still say it was worth it for 15 dollars, I milked over 70 hours on this game.Good times, also won $140+ from the tourneys.

Well duh you're happy with it. You won $140+ for paying $15. I had to skip out on one meal a day for a week to be able to pay $15 for it, and I only find out that the development team sucked. Have they ever heard of a beta? >:[

Even then, before I won $140.It was still worth it, I played over 100+ hours on it.That is easily worth 15$, even $30.

Kurbster - just download a last version, with ATI bug fixed and you will be able to play as anyone ATI user! Whats about refund, I dont think you can get your money back, but they can make some other offers to you! However, the server is still closed! And we must do something about it guys, I need your help: http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1897715

Forget it dude. If they couldn't keep a game running and a community thriving when the game was alive, there's no way they can resurrect it and fix it all. The devs got shut down. That's what this thread is about.

Move along.

The game was running very well! At least last 4 month. Untill something happened with their server! No need for any ressurection or fix! What it needs is just game server to be opened, and thats all! The game itself has good engine and awesome graffics, no bugs unresolved. There are no such kind of games at steam! Too early to give up yet!

To be honest, the game had promise. I was really interested in getting this game, up until I saw they wanted $29.95 for it when it launched on Steam. Then they had the balls to claim that Steam dictated the price and that it was out of their hands. That's when I decided I'd avoid this game like I'd avoid jumping into a pool full of acid with a sign that says "POOL FULL OF ACID".

Hopefully the developers can find better jobs elsewhere working for legit publishers. Mindscape stopped being legit in 1997. They have no business publishing entertaining games anymore. It's unfortunate that Mindscape (who's name and ip were sold to some obscure french developer) own Gobliiins.

This is almost as comical as InterPlay trying to start up again and get themselves into a huge pile of horse ♥♥♥♥ when they started tossing around "Fall Out MMO".

Absolutely agree with you Dyin_Spaser. The big problem is that STEAM still sell the game. This is unacceptable for a serious seller (A steam to prove it!). I do not buy anything from them.

We don't know that Mindscape or Punchers Impact have notified Valve/Steam at all. As far as I know, Mindscape closed Punchers Impact's doors and that was all. Most companies don't notify their lines of distribution that the game is dead. I mentioned in another thread that GameStop still sell copies of Matrix Online, Tablula Rasa and Dungeon Runners.

Tapewormz - Me as well as the others had notified Steam administration the day after server was shut down! I personaly wrote them and still got no answer! And u know why? Steam wont stop sell something if it can get its % of money! So they do know the game is dead! And by their oun will still selling it! Its all about money men! And Steam knows how to steal it as well as the P.I and MindScape! Thats the fishing men and we are the fishs, one like me more, one like u less...
And by the way, everyone who spent 14.99$ for it - forget about refund! And never deal ur money with Steam!

I'm sure it'll take some time for support to get to your email, and then it'll have to go through the proper channels to verify that the game is cancelled by contacting Mindscape or Punchers Impact. The new owners of Mindscape are a shady lot. They're not the original owners from the 1980's unfortunately.
