Everytime this game (warband) came to be on sale on steam, I was always a nanometer of a mouse click away from buying it, but I never did... I bought it during this last sale, and it's quickly moving up the ranks of my favorite games of all time.
I haven't touched multiplayer yet, and the only mod I've done is the one where cattle follow you instead of you pushing them in the right direction, but I'm pretty damn addicted. A lot of the gameplay is repetitive, yes, but something keeps driving me on to play more and more...
compared to today's games, the graphics are crap, there's no voice acting (unless you count the grunts and yells of battle, although the sound effects are pretty good), and it can be kind of unforgiving, but damned if it's not a good time regardless. It's pretty deep to have been made simply by a husband and wife, and I know I've only scratched the surface.
My advice: buy it now! that is all....

Multiplayer is actually better than the single player in my opinion. It does depend on what mood your in but the multiplayer 'battle' mode is just sooooooo fun.

That is true. Especially if you get to do some teamwork with a bunch of strangers.

Its all about the multiplayer siege. Nothing like storming or defending walls with human players.

I dont like the multiplayer it seems its a bit er.. unrefined. The single player exploits my need to distribute stats and create the elite fighting force that demolishes everything in its path. All hail king tale worlds! :D

Yeah I wish I bought it earlier too! The multiplayer is quite fun :)
I haven't really tried single player yet though.

Funny how most seem to like either the SP or the MP. I guess because they are so different.
500 hours into the SP here and far from bored. No mods yet, either...

Yup thats how we all felt about it at first.
A very familiar story.
The screenshots suck, the demo sucks, the videos suck, the games always just in that "it might be fun for a few hours" category when you look at the advertisements for it or read the reviews.
But one player after another tries it on the advice of a friend and becomes addicted just as you have done, that is because of the 1 thing they cannot show in a screenshot, review of video......eg the gameplay, it is just so dam good and changes as the game goes so it never stands still and your tactics have to change with it. So do not get used to the repetitive stuff, as you progress, thats the first thing that starts to change.
Its a very deep yet simple game to master.
Anyway, welcome to the Club... you will find most have a similar story about how they came to like M&B :)
