Just bought the game in the sale

When ever i load it from the Sims 3 launcher it comes up with.

Unable to start game

Service initialization failed (0x039e8474)

i had a look through these forums and Sims 3 forums and couldn't find anything to help fix it from steam and was wondering if anyone can help me. I have just tried reinstalling and still comes up with the same message.

Looked for fixes and they just seem to apply for content updates.
Looks like steams had me off again.

Try downloading it with the EADM as I just downloaded it last night from them and it is running fine for me. :)

I just installed all updates for my computer and restarted when i opened steam it downloaded a 422mb patch for sims 3 and now it loads
