Hmmmm.

The latest gameplay trailer.

WHAT, excactly, is with all the 'Military' type lines from the enemies?
It sounds more like lines suited to a COD or MOH game, not like what mosters/mutants might say.

What you think 1000's of years of Human Military/Clan/Gang style of actions and communications is going to disappear after the nuclear apocalypse? Honestly to me it seems to fit, and so far I like the direction it's going.

It seems ok to me and if that was the weak point in the game, the rest sure as hell looks good. I guess we have a different perspective, but it seems that the mutants and monsters in this vid are more human and human-like. For gaming, I see the setting, sounds, personalities thus far as fitting in perfectly. That's just my opinion though. Cheers!

I appreciate your viewpoint.

I am wondering if this is just 1 of the 'factions', and this is how THEY talk, and other factions may be voiced/lined differently?

I hope so.
This is one of only 3 games on my pre-order list.

I do agree there, it'd be nice to see some variety as-far-as factions' actions, speech, movements, teamwork, tactics, etc. So in that spect I do hope you are correct in hoping that others communicate differently and uniquely.

I preordered this for $45 on D2D and am thinking of getting Brink for $38 preordre on D2D as well. Aside from that Dirt 3 and BF3 are about it on my serious list this year of must-haves.

Ooooh.
I have never used D2D before.
Does it have DRM?

That is cheaper than the amazon price.

It's selling Steam Activation Keys for a cheaper Pre-order price than Steam is, more info per game on each game's product page, but Brink and Rage are Steamware and require Steam to play. Check out more info here:

Used an older code the other day for RAGE and gonna use the most recent code for Brink. Though maybe they were the same code..was gonna preorder Brink last night but Steam Forums were down when I was gonna do it. Still kind of on the border about Brink tho.

Got a replpy on the official forums:

In short, the answer to your question is that each faction use different voices, tactics and most importantly different weapons. The Shrouded clan is more military oriented. In contrast, mutants lack organisation and use primitive hand-made weapons. There are plenty of videos illustrating what i mean. BTW you can find more info on the clans here "http://rage.com/en/about-rage"

So, that is great.

Isnt Brink online only?
I dont like online only games.
I prefer offline SP campaigns.

From the gameplay I've seen the last couple of years at QuakeCon each group talks and moves differently. It's one of the points they kept making when they talked about the game, each bandit clan behaves differently, even moves about the room differently. Some are acrobatic, others are slow and methodical.

Have you played Quake 4, the enemies seem to fight like those but smarter.

So if I Pre-Order it on D2D, I can then activate it on steam just like I purchased it from steam?

That's what I'm under the assumption of at this point in time, there is a link on the D2D Rage page to ask the staff there for better clarification...which if you feel unsure, may be worth looking into.

At this time I am understanding that RAGE is a Steamware supported title and as such will utilise what Steam has to offer for support and online, so like other games I have purchased on D2D and Amazon, a key is given that is activated in Steam. I cannot guarantee this as I can only assume at this point as well...if you want a solid answer, contact D2D or id on the issue further. I honestly believe we'll see steam activation keys though. Cheers! :)
