View Full Version : Map Rotation CSS

With CS the maps rotated with the origional server.cfg. With CSS the map never seems to change. I have it set to de_dust. Being a newbie here, how do you set up map rotation in your CSS server.cfg? I would mention too, that my server runs beautiful. Cheers to Steam!!

Er, it doesnt do int in that config, source reads map rotation in the map cycle css, it reads maps in the map list .txt files, both in the main folder.

Modding the cycle file changes the cycle of the maps

Setting up a mapcycle is easy,,

Have your server running and type in the server console.... maps * (yes, type the "*") and you will be presented with the currently available maps on the server.

Take note of the de_ and cs_ start of the map name. Now creat a text file calld mapcycle.text and put which maps you want in there, something like this..


Put the entire list in there if you want,, or leave out the maps you hate...

Now put this newly created mapcycle in the cstrike/cfg folder. The game calls for a mapcycle.txt as default, so no need to call for it in the server cfg.

But if you feal you have the need to add it it would look like this in your server.cfg,,,

mapcyclefile mapcycle.txt
