I don't know about anyone else, but these guys pretty obviously put their heart and soul into this game, cared about getting us previews and info, and have updated us consistently with their progress, showing that it's going to be awesome. It's nice to know one developer bothers to communicate their passion for their game, and after their first effort it looks like this one is gonna have a lot of good experience behind it.
I know their passion is going to show in the final product, I gotta respect them for that, and it's gonna be awesome! Having followed it up to this point, I just don't see how it could not be. So haters gonna hate, but true PC RPG fans disappointed by DA2 (read: most of them) will probably want to get this.

Your not wrong about that. I've been replaying The Witcher and even it beats DA2 in just about every respect. It just feels so much more pleasurable to play. The journal is very descriptive (in DA2 the quest have been reduced to one liners for what to do next and often you have no idea what brought it along), the lore is deep, the maps are beautifully drawn unlike DA2's pathetic computer generated maps, there is no map area reuse (shame on you Bioware). DA2 has it's good points but is let down by a few basic staples an immersive RPG needs. It's quite amazing really that such an old game now is so much better than a supposedly AAA release.
The Witcher 2 will put DA2 to absolute shame. I hope every member of Bioware plays The Witcher 2 and learns from their mistake so they can repair the damage in DA3.

The Witcher 2 already has RPG GOTY potential, and its not even out yet. IMO,only competition it has,is Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim. but we shall see...

Agreed! I want both really badly, and fortunately they're spaced enough so that I can give both the time they deserve. =)
I don't spend time on many games, but I have a weakness for amazing roleplaying.

Shame something like Skyrim would get it based on brand name a lone.
I feel the changes from Witcher 1 to Witcher 2 are greater then Oblivion to Skyrim but who cares.
If it wins at the bafta awards that's different because they care about the little guys.

Aye, I hope so too. Just like BRINK's, which is already pre-loaded since a few days ago (unlocks May 13th).

I was disappointed by Oblivion so I don't have much optimism about Skyrim. On the other hand all the previews/videos/etc about the Witcher 2 have me really excited :D
Even if it's half as good as it's made out to be it would still qualify as a great game.

yea,im still on TW2's side for GOTY. CD Projekt RED deserve it,for being one of the very few dev's that actually focus on PC,and dont sell out to consoles *looks at Crytek*

Origins was actually a great game. Bioware totally ruined the sequel by making it everything Origins wasn't. Deus Ex > Deus Ex Invisible War anyone?

that's also why you should get it on GOG and not steam. GoG is owned by CD Project the developers of the game thier version also has no DRM whatsoever whilst the steam version has secuROM.

1. Add Witcher 2 as a non-steam game

3. Profit!

If you add any game as a non-Steam game to your Steam library and launch it from there you will get the overlay.
What you won't get is game time tracking (though not sure why this can't be provided by Steam) or Steam achievements. Your friends will get a message saying you are playing The Witcher 2 though.

Ah k, good. achievements arent of any concern to me, are there even any for this game? time tracking would've been nice, but not really necessary
